TennisNerd is your man, he has a sensitive elbow and plays with all manner of frames and string set ups, if he says a frame is comfortable for a rec player then it is.

There are plenty of fear mongering people saying don't use poly, don't use stiff rackets, don't string above X lbs, etc.... I didn't just make that up or imagine that in my head. A quick google search gets you...

If you ever had a serious case of TE (well some posters here even thinks that TE doesn’t exist) you will be in despair and try everything posiible to be able to play again. You will also know that stiff racquets + stiff poly strings are NOT the way to heal your arm. Lots of tennis players think they are imune to TE, and hopefully they are. But if you are unlucky and have a sensitive elbow, you also know that soft racquets and soft strings are the only combo that will let you play tennis pain free. Lots of posters here have the same experience, and this is why we do not agree with Nick and you.

We are talking about a guy who (according to a recent Tennisnerd's podcast) plays with dead poly strings until they break. From what I read today it is clear that he should write a guide "how to get tennis elbow "...

I wouldn't agree that stiff rackets + poly is GOOD for the arm, but I would say that soft racket (clash) + syn gut isn't necessarily good for the arm. I've had more arm discomfort with a clash + soft strings than stiff rackets with poly, simply because the racket feels wildly unstable and I feel the need to grip harder, which is already a problem with beginner students.

That is surprising to hear.

I've got a few of the V1 clash rackets, and I was surprised by how stable they feel for their weight, and that's coming from someone who owns a bunch of heavy rackets like the Volkl C10 pro and Head prestige tour. However, I did add a leather grip to the 100v1, which brought the racket to 305g unstrung.

I now own a Clash 100v2 but I'm yet to string it up. I've read a few posts of people saying that it is much firmer than the V1 despite only being a few RA points higher on paper. I'm hoping that it's only a very minor change in feel.

I wouldn't think its the flexibility in particular that's the issue in your case though though. I've used unstable rackets of all stiffnesses, and I agree that it doesnt feel great. Wilson's quality control is so bad that my swingweight may also be totally different to yours, which may explain our differing perception of its stability.

I've had this feeling with all clashes I've tried (v1 and v2), it feels like the racket bends too much across the hoop, especially when hitting hard. V2 is noticeably more stiff than the v2, weird feeling racket. Wilson QC is definitely a factor as well

They aren't quite the same, but the way the tip of the racket bends is similar to the c10 pro. It's a really pronounced feeling that I enjoy the sensation of. I can totally understand why some people wouldn't like that feeling though.
