So I decided to do a little racquet modification today. I was wanting to drop my grip size a little so here is what I did.
My six.one 95s was set up like this -
10g replacement grip w/ Wilson Pro Overgrip
3.5g poster putty under cap
Specs - 337g - 7.6 HL
I took off the replacement grip and added 4, 3" strips of lead on the handle, 6g total.
Added 2 Head Xtreme Soft Overgrips, this made somewhat of a grooved handle, and a little softer. I kind of liked the new feel.
3.5g poster putty under cap.
Specs - 338.5g - 8.2 HL
I have not hit with it yet, but swung it in the garage a little bit after modifying it and it felt very good. Yes, in the garage, I am a dork.
I think with my larger grip before, I was having a hard time relaxing my wrist on my groundstrokes and it feels loads better now.
Hopefully this new experiment will translate well on the court.
