Rafa fans ranting thread

I told you he was losing this, and you didn't believe me. He had his chances, but choked as always. Such a mentally weak player. The terrible night conditions after the first set also hurt his game a lot, he never had a chance in such conditions. If that were normal conditions like in the first set he would have probably won. Still, he had his chances and choked them away.

He is done, and will never win anything again. I'm probably done with tennis as well. I'm not interested watching a game where Djokovic is a lock for all slams. He will win all 4 slams this year, no doubt.

He had a wrist problem it seems like, he was hitting the bh bad and the forehand didn't have the usual bite.

Nadal has won about 10 slams since I've thought he was finished lol. I'm good  more importantly, I know Rafa is too. Time for him to eat epic food on his yacht, rest and come back to try again.
The virgin crybaby Rafa fan vs the Chad satisfied Rafa fan

You are nothing but a Djokovic fanboy. Enjoy him winning all 4 slams this year, and like 50 more slams in general.

I liked it very much, every minute, every game ... great Tennis from two of the best Tennis Players ever, and the better one takes the win ... what is not to like about this ? Im a big Nadal Fan, but Djokovic really earned his victory tonight ... and if you don´t enjoy such an epic mach, maybe collecting stamps is more suitable ? think about it ...

Now i know Djokovic is goat, and I'm fine with it now at least now in this moment. Idk Nadal has given me happy times. He is not the best tennis player ever and it's fine, but yeah this is the saddest thing that could have happended in tennis for sure, so sad

He seemed a bit lost in strategy, i remember 2 times on return 2nd serves, easy ones down the t line he did the run around and missed wide an inside out return winner
Later on when doing the same run around he crushed it to novak bh and that ended in a lot of won points.

No, that was not the problem. The problems were night conditions (hardcourt-like) and his terrible mentality. He is mentally the weakest top player ever. Choked on every big point in that third set.

Very well said. He'll be back for sure and if not, he has more than been and remains an inspiration.

And if Nadal's final push/permanent decline comes at 35, how can I possibly be mad? If u told me he'd even make a FO3rd round in 2021, 15 years ago id have laughed you off the forum. No other player on tour can say they have only lost 3x at a slam in 16 years. To this day, Nadal has only lost 3 BO5 matches on clay in his entire life and that's insane.

Federer lost like 3-4 matches against Novak with the famous 40-15. I think his mentality is weaker than Rafa's.

I'm more disappointed that he couldn't last the 4th set, let alone push it to 5 at RG of all places...

but tbh I'm like @MichaelNadal , Nadal's exceeded my expectations since 2017 that I didn't even think was possible so it ain't that bad plus he's won 13 RGs lol

Nothing will ever bother me more than Wimby 07 and USO 11. I'm totally good (honestly in a way I wish I WAS upset) but maybe I'm getting old :p Novak is close to being GOAT and if he gets there, I'm ok with it. Nadal will always be Nadal to me, and the best player I've ever gotten to watch. He's made so many of my Sundays epic that I owe him a ton :D

Tennis is one of like 40 things I love lol on to some classic wrestling now and maybe a Linkin Park concert to close out the night ;) currently sipping a homemade margarita :p
Sometimes it's all about putting things into perspective. These losses often make us realise that we have a life outside TTW which is far more real than these vicarious fan wars lol

@Third Serve

bro I know how you felt in 2015 now when Fed couldn't last the 5 sets, even tho he was winning bo3 matches

Nadal is old, old

USO 11? That’s surprising to me.

Obviously devastated but will get over it.. I guess he had to lose at Chatrier again at some point. Still feel he has one more RG in him

The annoying thing is that Djokovic never has such losses, and never will. He will never lose in AO semifinal or final, for sure not to his main rivals.

Isn't every Rafa thread a rant? When he loses, threads usually fall silent. This year is the exception.

#HaveFaithInTsitsipas :p
I'm done with tennis. I'm not interested to watch a game where he have Djokovic win everything. Tsitsipas will actually have the opportunity to play Djokovic in normal clay conditions (and not that night hardcourt), but it will not save him.

Not quite as zen as MN on this one, but hard to argue with the way Novak played. 13 French Opens and still not enough lol

Anyways today is my birthday, so just waiting for the evening to go out to a lovely dinner with my fiancée. Life goes on :giggle:
Happy birthday man!

I've always said that the only constant in sport is defeat. Eventually it will come for everyone, Djokovic/Nadal/Federer, whoever. Nadal fans have been blessed quite literally more than any other fan base in history with victory :)
