Seles would have been the greatest ever without the stabbing.

She is not overrated.
At her peak Seles is most certainly among the 8 best players.
#8 behind Graf, Navratilova, Henin, Court, Evert, S. Williams and BJK.

I was just joking, sorry if it didn't come out that way. These arguments are pointless. There is no objective way to categorize all these players without someone objecting, and it is impossible to compare players of different eras.

Behind Henin!?! Now that is a joke. A nearly retired Seles is 4-3 against Henin.

Lendl is right.

Actually Lendl is partially wrong. In track and field almost all the female world records are still from the 80s, the height of the doping age for the Communist females (and some Americans, eg Flo Jo).

I figure that Seles would have been the best ever at the rate she was winning majors and she may have had a shot at a Golden Slam in '96, but that's very unlikely and I know we'll never see that one again, so Steffi's achievement from '88 is probably going to stand forever.

Come on!
Seles won the first 4 matches against Juju when she was only a teenager!
And Seles still 5 years away from her retirement!!

Seles had won 8 slams and was still a teenager. Yet 18 and 19 year old Henin couldnt beat way past her prime Seles in the twilight of her career. Seles's last pro match was May 2003 so that was her retirement. Her repeated thumpings of Henin were all 2001 and 2002.

But not the male records. Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis were not running the same sort of times in the 100m as Tyson Gay and Usain Bolt are today.

Why focus on the details and miss the point? Lendl's point is that you cannot compare players of different eras in any sport. There is no doubt about that and absolutely no argument.

Do you want me to repeat against whom teenage Navratilov lost ...?

So what is your point. Navratilova was a late bloomer. Henin was not. She was washed up and retired at 25 after all, LOL!

I can put it simply- do you honestly think Seles was closer to her prime from 2001-2003 than Henin? If so you are crazy.

In 2002 Seles was 28 years old, peak prime age. She was 9-time slam winner.
Henin was still a teenage rookie, hadn't even made a slam final until then.

Graf at 28 was losing to Coetzer and Appelmans. I guess that was her peak and prime age too according to you, LOL!

And you are wrong about the slam final part. Henin made the final of Wimbledon in 2001, beating Capriati who had won the first 2 slams that year. Only 1 or 2 of her 7 matches with Seles had taken place at that point.

We are talking PEAK form here, dude!
And 2007 Henin was far better than 1991 Seles.
Seles had no opposition in 1991, Navratilova too old, Graf severely slumping, Sanchez still maturing, Pierce & Novotna nowhere to be seen yet.

Sanchez was 2 years older than Seles and won her first slam the year before Seles did and she was "still maturing" while Seles wasnt, LOL! Funny. And Pierce and Novotna were easy opponents for the peak unstabbed Seles.

Now onto Henin who was her competition in 2007? Serena still in the worst slump of her career (2004-2007), Venus only a grass court specialist by now (last non Wimbledon final way back in 2003), Clijsters retired, Mauresmo washed up, Davenport retired, Capriati and Pierce retired.

Just throwing this out there as food for thought... but perhaps the issue here is perception vs reality. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps Serena was slumping, Venus wasn't playing so great, and the other players around were slumping, etc... because other players (ie. Henin for instance) were just taking them out of their comfort zone?

Every player slumps, but you have to examine the circumstances surrounding the time... for instance people say Federer was done over and over again, based on the fact that he has trouble with Nadal? Sure Nadal makes him look bad then they play each other perhaps, but Federer sure can still whoop pretty much every other guy on tour. So its not a sign of Federer losing it as much as it is that someone else has come along and claimed his throne as number 1. Try to think about such things before just rambling.

You really do like to just take things out of context, and focus on one or two minor details without thinking everything through. Your trolling remind me of someone... are you Glenn Beck!?!!?
