Yeah, especially those who have never won one in what 7 attempts ? Grapes. Sour.
Roddick used to care about it, Murray, Rafa, Ferrer care about it IMO. The ones who never cared about it are the ones who refused to come as a substitute like Dimitrov, and there was many more when Nalbandian won it in 2005 I think he was like #12 at the Race ranking, at least 2 or 4 players didnt bother to show up.

It's his career, he can do as he pleases.
I'm siding with this.
I can see why they want him to play (money), but at the end of the day Andy should be in control of what he does I think.
Someone like him has earned that in my eyes.

When Murray plays tournaments and brings audiences, the tour rewards him with money and ranking points.
When Murray doesn't play tournaments, the tour punishes him by not paying him and giving him no ranking points.

There's no need to force him into something he doesn't want to do (and is already losing out on through the lack of money, ranking points and match play against top opposition).

Exactly.
He's happy to take the hit in prize money/ranking, that's the punishment.
