When I ask in the car on the way home what gifts Sock has given her thus far in their year-plus relationship, she says, “Pretty much anything I want.”

“I’m not signing those wristbands, I hope you know,” she announces, breaking the awkward silence that has settled over the room. Soon, Stephens declares she’s done. “I’m not signing any more. There’s not that many kids in the world.”

People grow up at different rates. She's obviously very hard-working and responsible to have achieved so much, yet it seems her behavior at times is quite adolescent. I think she'll be fine as she matures a bit more and quits worrying about the small stuff.

Sloane gives a great scripted interview on camera at the tournaments. Of course there is a lot more to people than their on camera demeanor.

In my experience, folks who are told they are the greatest thing in the world all their lives tend to believe it after a while, especially if they don't have a lot on the ball to begin with and athletes and actors/models/singers etc often don't have very much going on upstairs.

What's odd, is Sloane has to know what she's saying is going to be in print so maybe she's purposely being obnoxious. Often that happens, celebrities purposely act and talk rude and distasteful to gain notoriety.

Not defending Sloane at all, I just find it odd that she'd actually talk like that knowing there's a journalist there taking notes. It's like Reality TV. People know there are cameras there so they're obviously acting up.

The people who embarrass themselves are the ones who quote 21 year olds, as if they expect wisdom at that age.

No excuse. 21 is old enough. She's a grown woman and should know better. I'm 17 and if I went around saying stuff like this everyone would think I'm a cocky a-hole. No one would say: "Ah, he's 17. Give him time to mature."

You keep calling Gulbis names, for no other reason than his family’s wealth. Very mature.

Not for the reason of his family's wealth, but for the reason of his arrogant, entitled, disrespectful conduct. Anyways, this has nothing at all to do with Sloane Stephens. Please stay on topic.

Sloane definitely has a sense of entitlement and an attitude problem this girl needs to wake up ASAP. Eugenie Bouchard and Simona Halep both are in the top 10 and better than Sloane right now.

She probably saw that signed and match-worn stuff on the Bay (auction site), and thought "OMG, I signed that stuff for some kids!".

There's a signed Sloane Stephens dress on there for $5000!

But honestly, who would pay more than $50 for that stuff? Someone is delusional!
Maybe in a decade when she's won ten slams, but for now it seems ridiculous.

50/50 chance she listed those items herself. :)
