And fell in love with it right away! My usual stick is the K90 leaded up to 13.5oz, with most of the lead at the 3 and 9 positions. I usually use a hybrid of lux and VS but I decided to go with a full bead of gut for the kps, strung in the low 60s. I am an all court player who also LOVES to be at the net. I would also like to add that I hit the kps "naked", as in I was so excited to go hit with it I had not put any lead tape on it yet, that is for tonight!

So from the very first backhand, (I play with a one-hander), I knew I was in for something special. I was able to hit the ball with very little spin or I could produce a good (not substantial) amount when needed. The forehand felt as smooth as silk, my second favorite shot by far with this racquet. The serve was fairly decent also, I am sure I will like it better once I get my lead tape on it.
But the thing I LOVED about it was volleys/slice backhand. Volleys felt o-so crisp and the backhand slice is just plain nasty.

So am I going to switch? No. Not that I love don't LOVE the KPS88 but I just love my K90 more. The KPS88 will remain in my bag at all times though! I have a doubles match tomorrow and even though I will barely have 3 hours with it, I will walk on court with a big grin on my face and a boat load of confidence!!!

it is like that joke:

person 1 says : i fell in love at first sight
person 2 responds: but then how come you are still single ?
person 1 explains: i took another look

I played my doubles match today and it did feel really good. It went to a 3rd set and I switched to my K90 to finish it up.

And to anyone who is to "scared" to use this racquet, DEMO DEMO DEMO, I think you will be surprised.

I see you used to use the K90, do you mind telling me why you switched? What shot(or shots) do you think the kps has over k90?

I switched after i demoed the k88. I found my shots to be that much more solid, penetrating, and precise. Even my opponents have told me my game has improved....I hvnt switched my overall game...just my frame..and that is to the k88 :) I would say that forehands are amazing with the k88....also my best shot

it must have been tough to make the decision to switch because you have so many k90 racquets.

Yeah i had to work with it for about 2 weeks....to really configure if I wanted to switch or not..and I made the right decision that eventually suited my game in a more positive aspect :)

For me, the K88 makes tennis even more fun to play. Can't describe it, but it takes you back to the old days where shot making was more key than power. However, the K88 delivers power as well. Shots are just more statisfying to hit. The biggest improvement to my game from just switching to the K88 is the serves. Huge bombs down the middle and kickers can be done with ease.

RUN, what r u gonna do with ur k90s now? lol...and how many k88s r u going to get?

the K90 is still going to be my primary stick. I feel like I can a little bit more spin off of my 90s. I don't have any plans on getting any more 88s, im happy with my one :)

I got to hit with the k88 today. It's a very nice frame indeed. I did immediately feel comfortable with the way it swung, and while it did feel substantial, I didn't think it felt as heavy as I imagined it would. The balance and weight of it felt almost immediately comfortable, and I was impressed with the frame overall.

I wouldn't mind picking up a discounted pair at some point, but after playing it, and my PSLs back to back, I really liked the PSL a little better. I think part of that is I am more used to the PSL, and the other part is the easier access to spin on the PSL. The low swing weight and light head can really make the ball jump when you use it right.

the racquet was very solid but the people here were right, it was quite heavy.

was this ur first time hitting with it?

yep. i played with a (US) K90 and a KPS88 and the K90 felt so light after I had used the KPS88. All the shots worked though, so detractors who had said that the average player can't play with this racquet were wrong :)

Hurray ...just received my KPS88. VS touch on the mains & alu power on crosses. Cannot wait to hit with it!

3 size feels a bit thicker than usual. Is that because of the but cap? I grip it very low and somehow it does not feel the same as holding PS 85.

I think the grip size feels large, too.

My 4 1/2 feels closer to 4 5/8.
