soft co-poly + multifilament = ?

I have a couple of new racquets in the Maxply McEnroe and the TT Warrior OS. Both are relatively stiff sticks (especially the Maxply, haven’t played with the Warrior yet), that I would like to soften up, while at the same time trying to optimize my control and spin. Power is not a high priority with me.

I did a search and read about some softer polys that are more arm friendly, which is good since I like the spin potential on a lot of polys. Now, would stringing a soft co-poly on the mains (SPPP or TS Poly Polar 17g), with a soft multifilament on the crosses (Head Rip Control 17g) be a good combo for what I am looking for? Or would the friction be too much for the multifilament to take, and I should opt for a soft syn gut instead (Forten Sweet 17g)?

Also, would a poly, even a soft co-poly, be ideal for a stick like my Maxply? Or should I try some multifilament + syn gut combo?

Anyway, I have my own stringer so I can try numerous combos, but thought I would ask in hopes of finding a good starting point. The combo of a soft co-poly with a soft spin friendly multifilament such as HRC does have me tempted.

Thanks,
X

Currently my Maxply is strung at midrange (60 lbs) with PSGD. It’s decent, but I feel like the tension is too tight.

First, I'd figure out which racquet you want to play with. Those are two completely different racquets. If you're a beginner I would recommend the TT with synthetic gut (and to not think too much about the strings).
