Softest prince 90 made ?

Ok so I’m back on this thing .
I thought I’d found the prince 90 With the most flex in the power pro /power flex 90 neither one of these seemed all that soft to me and they are both head heavy which I hate and can’t use
. But regardless, I think there may be even more flexible ones out there.’
I have found what I think may be the lower tired yet carbon / fiberglass models of the prince 90 line .
What’s so interesting is that they all are the exact same molds .
So if you were to black out any of the 15 or so they made .. you’d never know what was underneath, which is fun when you do paint jobs like me :)
So .
I’m very interested in a couple new to me 90 midsize player looking sticks from the 80’s prince thin beam line ..
1. Prince Volley 90
2. Graphite finalist 90 ..
don’t know a thing about either one unfortunately they could be awful , head heavy stiff sticks ..
but I don’t know .
I’ve asked around to some of my vintage prince friends and they have no idea, matter of fact they had never heard of either .. hmmm
So here I am . Asking . You all .
im really intrigued about the volley 90 ..
Terrible name, fantastic looker though .
Looks like a thin beam prince lightning 90 or a prince graduate from afar..
does anyone know anything at all about either one ????

Those are head heavy? That seems very odd to me.

I’d guess the Graphite Pro 90 is soft.

I found the Power Flex or Power Pro to be softer than the regular Graphite 90.

A question that’s been asked for years without a definitive response, what’s the difference between the Power Pro and Powerflex?

The Magnesium Pro would actually bend after some time in use.
The Prince Precision Graphite was also very soft from what I remember.

I have Precision Graphite 90, Magnesium Pro 90 and Graphite Pro 90, all in good condition with stencils on strings. Maybe i will try them later except Magnesium which had an authentic Pat Cash signature on it.

I had a lot of Prince 90s at one, still have a fair pile, but a much smaller pile. The Powerflex 90 was the softest of the bunch.

Yes the power flex and the power pro are EXACTLY the same stick . The power flex was a bit more HH than the power pro, nominal at best .
Both are even to head heavy unfortunately..
What sucks but is still to be determined is no one still has ever owned a volley 90 or a finalist 90. Another good thing is that they both can be had for cheap . So the experiment will be fun . If I’m a betting man . I think the “ finalist 90 ” will be softer than the power flex’s . And the volley will be top out as the most flexible 90 prince ever made . Like princes version of the head club tour 89.5..
at least I hope

I have a Graphite Volley 110 somewhere, but no 90
Henry you are an astute young man! Henry has graced us many a year on TT and has been an invaluable resource for me and others . Dear @Henry Hub .
can you possibly dig up the volley 110 ? Maybe give it a at home bend flex test ? Would be awesome to get your opinion on it !!

I dug out the Volley 110, a Graphite Pro 110, a Comp and a 4-stripe POG (couldn’t find the Supreme 90 I have kicking around somewhere).

On the basis of some rigorous testing, precise calibrations and scientific analysis (ie merrily bending them over the knee while chucking back a glass of red wine), I concluded that the POG seemed the stiffest, then the Graphite Pro, followed closely by the Comp and finally the Volley. The rubric on the throat of the Volley does make much of the fibreglass in its composition.

Looks very lighting eque.. also I noticed that the volley 110 has an almost EXACT SAME PJ as the 2015 prince response 97 . And roughly the same head size . I don’t think princes 110’s we’re actually that large more like 102’s if that even .

I am almost afraid to ask this but is the volley 110 head heavy ?

I LOVE LOVE THIS CHART !
Would love to be able to add to this thin beam flat beam frame designs :
With the following frames . In 90 midsize only though :
Tournament graphite 90
Sierra 90 ( I think that’s the name )
Volley 90
Graphite finalist 90 .
Is there any that I’m missing if so let me know as I’m trying to compile a full list on a separate thread .

Out of all the Prince 90s from the 80's I have had I enjoyed the Graphite Pro the most. 2d place was the Graphtech DB90. The prettiest is the deep maroon Prince Advance Response System 90. I think a neat thing about most if not all these Prince 90's from the 80's is that many had a 110 (107") counterpart. A trend that carried into the '90s with my much beloved MIchael Chang Ti 95s and 107s.

I agree with you about the Graphtech DB90. That was a very very sweet stick - one of Prince's standouts from this time period.

Thanks for that. Cool illustrations.
I had a couple of Graphite Pro OS back in the late 80’s/early 90’s.Pretty sure they have gone missing after a couple of house moves. I remembered one was blue and the other was white/blue. can’t remember much how they played though. I was a CTS Approach at the time. Lol

None of these are the softest I'm afraid, but I thought this would be a good thread to mention the relative flexes of the POG, Spectrum and Response 90s. I've seen it mentioned that the Response is a noodle in some places, which is definitely not the case. My estimates are POG 67 RA, Spectrum 64 and Response 62, so they are quite close to each other.

Yes !!!! Me tooooo ! I’ve never seen one ever in person. Nor do I know anyone who has .
I’d imagine it’s the basic same stick as the ceramic spectrum . But that cosmetic is bomb.
The softest prince 90 that’s made of carbon graphite is the prince power pro 90. Only problem is its head heavy . So the next in line is the graphite pro 90 which is balanced head light with a comfy SW.. it’s about a 50 RA . Especially if you get her used ..
the power pro 90 is around mid to high 40’s RA ..
Which would be my fave except that jacked up hammer weight

There was a little speculation I believe on these very boards that the original iteration of the Prince Phantoms were just re-cosmeticised Graphite Pro's. I never hit with one so I can't say, but the Graphite Pro was a lovely buttery feeling stick.

Interestingly enough. I just looked at the prince graphite pro 110 and compared it to the prince phantom 100 purple version . And ya know what ? They look very similar I will say . I believe the graphite pro was high 40’s RA low 50’s range . So it could be the mold with a longer grip .
