Federer-Fish IW 2005.
Look at this ball striking. There’s just nobody who played the game this way. Peak Fed is the greatest tennis player to ever hold a racket.
That’s the deal.

I was looking at 2007 Wimbledon v Nadal today courtesy of Michael Nadal.

Just… the quality of the tennis is just so off the charts. Blazing winner after blazing winner.

beautiful stuff.

One match I’ve really wanted to see for a long time is the Federer-Lopez match at Wimbledon 2003, just one round after the match I posted above. I’ve heard Fed was battling a back injury during that match so it’d be interesting to see how he dealt with Lopez through all that.
For the longest time, it was thought that this match wasn't available (possibly not even televised, can't remember the specifics) at all, until footage of the match point came up a few years back. Not sure if it's available now, haven't looked in ages. I've seen all his other matches at Wimbledon 03, this is one of my "most wanted" as well.

That’s pretty crazy. Like a once considered extinct species making a rare appearance.

Time to resurrect this thread with an oldie: Fed vs. Fish at Wimbledon 2003.

Not a brutal beatdown like some of the others in this thread but this is a very nice display of Fed’s forecourt prowess. Feels a bit odd to see him taking the net with such regularity but that’s Wimbledon 2003 Fed for you. Some really good shots here. Fish played a great point to steal that break in the third set.

I realize I may have condemned this thread to the former pro section with this bump but so be it.
likely without the rain delay he may have won in straights and possibly won his first major all in straights!
