OK so these strings are SUPER soft. The first string job I did (57lb) there was a good amount of slipping ended up breaking the strings. Second Job.. I did at 60 lb and there was a great deal more of slipping at this tension. I realized that wrapping around the jaws helped half way through the job but the string wasn't in good enough shape and ended up snapping.
Ok third times a charm. Ended up having to wrap around the jaws an extra 2 times to keep the string from slipping with these string at this tension.. and this is after i cleaned The jaws with alcohol, and wipped down the strings. However the job still didn't look professional when I was finished.. the strings had little frays on them here and there. Any suggestions?
When wiping the strings down I used a small bath towel both damp and dry and did see residue come off the strings. Not a lot but enough to show on the towel. Is There a more proper way to wipe down these strings to help prevent any slipping or fraying.. Is it normal for these strings to not look "clean" when done stringing.
