What's your response? how's the Prince Textreme Tour 100P?

What's it good for, what does it do best?

It's kind of nice, too, to get some considered reflections on the frame, from folks who have used it for several months/years rather than just the "I've had it a week, played it twice" superficial stuff. ymmv

I gave it a couple of months and didn't like it; seemed hard to control. What do you think?

I'm really talking about the TT 100 P.

yes. i understand. the reason I asked was b/c it is very similar to tt100. launch angle is noticeably lower on 100p (as you would expect) and I think it's a tad stiffer (ever slightly less comfortable). All in all, I actually did not think added control from 100p was all that much so I would estimate that you would not find anything significantly different in 100p vs 100. I played with tt100 for about 6 months. I like it a lot. Yes, it's not a thin beam control stick but it's one of the best all arounders that I have played with (very good balance of all attributes). 100p will be close. Having said that, I am not sure you will find a whole other difference in 100p if you did not care for tt100.

I play with the original one, since the spring. To me it feels like a solid basic racket, and that's what I got it for. 100" but 18x20, so there is control but also decent spin. Good slices due to low launch. Low stiffness, good comfort. Stable for its low weight, for me. I have added some weight to the tail and a tiny bit to 12 / 3&9.

I sometimes feel my game with the M3.0 98 16x19 that I played before this was a bit better. But I had leaded it up to 12.9oz, and it gave me an occasional shoulder flare. It was a 16x19, but a tight one, so pretty similar to the 100P in that respect. You could sometimes feel the racket flex, although the spec RA was higher. I had that strung with Kevlar Zyex, yet to try it on the 100P.

Could not find another 100P locally, so bought a Gravity Tour instead. Which feels like a bigger club in my hands (higher SW and wider head, so feels heavier, more like an OS and less manoeuvrable). Currently not playing with the GT yet, possibly need to restring it a bit tighter, as I feel I cannot really swing out with my FH. One day when I was a playing a guy who hits hard and flat and I was hitting the net cord on many of my shots, I switched to the GT, and it worked wonders for that session. On mishits, the 100P feels like solid Graphite stick, but the GT feels like hollow plastic. Which does not really matter to me, it could also be that the weight on the GT is not as evenly spread.

Been using the 100P for about a month now. Strung it one with 16G vs Gut at 55#. Strung my other with NRG at 16G @58#. The gut gives me overall better control than the NRG, as the NRG got springy after about 5 hours of play. This is a comfortable frame, control is decent, but not as good as other 18 x 20's I have used. I'm still getting dialed into it as I will be in a rally and out of nowhere spray a routine ball long, so I think the string bed has hot spots outside of the sweetspot. I just restrung with 17G vs gut in the mains at 55# and 17G pro hurricane tour in the crosses at 53# to see if I can tame it down a bit. My whole game is built around consistency and there have been some frustrating moments with misses I would have not missed with my Melbournes. I like this frame at net and I like serving with it. I don't get a lot of free points, but my serve has become very dependable and I get a nice slice and kick serve with minimal effort. It's easy on my shoulder and It does not tire me out in match play like other heavier frames I have used. The swing weight is good for a lighter players frame and I think if i get the right string set up, it could be a keeper. My 1HBH is my better wing and it is the side I struggle with, for some reason, and it may be just getting used to the handle shape, I get a higher launch angle than with my beckers and I hit out long much more frequently than I usually do. I hope this new string set up works out.

It is normal to have some misses as you started to use a new racquet :) overall:
-yes serves and slice are the best points of 100P
-it is not typical 18x20 as it is quite open
-probably hard to use full gut/multi with this racquet
-there is some issue with forgiveness which is gone after getting used to this racquet.
I changed it to Tour 100 and find it easier to play actually, it is a bit more powerful and forgiving.

Strung up with 17G vs gut at 55# on the mains/17G pro hurricane tour at 53# on the crosses. Played a tight match today and I was underwhelmed with this set up to say the least. This frame is fairly low powered, but with soft string it has not been an issue. Today I felt like I was playing with a frying pan. My serve held up, but all my other shots were falling very short unless I put a lot of air underneath them. Maybe need to go even lower, otherwise I will go back to a soft string and deal with it.

After 6 weeks I have given up on this frame. Too tinny, lack of feel and some hot spots on the string bed killed the deal for me. It is a fun frame to serve with, and I may pull it out again in the summer for doubles, but for singles, It's just too tinny and whippy for what I am looking for.

I'm very interesting in trying it. Want to see how a very whippy 18x20 work for me. What do you mean by hot spots? If tinny is about the sound, does dampener help?

I am used to 12.6 oz HL frames so When I tried this one out I was skeptical if I could adjust to it. All these new frames I have tried over the last year, have a hollow cheap feel to them, not like the solid graphite frames of the early 2000'and 2010's. I played indoors with it and really struggled to find consistent depth and pace off of both wings. The string bed has a good sized sweep spot, but I felt that the ball would really fly when hit high in the string bed. I hit a 1HBH and the light weight started to bother my elbow, as I was not able to feel the weight of the frame pull through on topspin drives, so I started to get a bit wristy with it. It is very easy to serve with and good enough at the net for S&V or doubles play, but for all court tennis, it did not suit my taste at all. It's pretty low powered for such a light frame. My son and wife both use this frame and like it, but they both hit 2HBH and like a lighter frame than I, so what they look for is a bit different than what suits me. I played it with a Dampener and without and did not feel any difference. It's all about a matter of individual taste and I suggest you demo before you buy if you can.

Played a good 4.5 today and decided to give the TT100P another try. The gut /poly set up must have settled because this frame played very nicely today. I was serving very well with it and off the ground, I was getting pretty nice spin, depth and pace with very relaxed swings. My regular hitting partner commented on how well I was serving and punching volleys today. I had a very offensive mindset today and committed to hitting with topspin, but with a little lower net clearance than i usually do, and I was getting good depth and power with relative ease today. It still has that hollow feel, I loathe, but I actually had a lot of fun using it today playing points. I was getting a very nice driving slice and only coming over my BH when I had plenty of time to line it up. Coming from the C10 pro I have been using, this frame was so easy to play with and absolutely no arm or shoulder fatigue. When I did try to get heavy high topspin groundstrokes I was still hitting out a bit, but again, maybe this frame is better suited for driving top spin instead of higher loopers I usually get from my other frames.

Basil, you gonna feel most recent frames as "modern hollow".
I would suggest try Angell frames for foam filled solidness.
As recall, you moded 100p with lead tapes?

I agree. I had the good fortune of hitting with a Blade 16 x 19 V6 and it plays like a solid TT 100p. Solid but not too stiff. Its obviously a different frame from the prince, But I can go back & fourth between the two with no issue. Blade swing weight is a little heavier than the prince. Balance is more of an even balance which I usually don't like, but it works on this frame. I am going to continue using both and see which suits my game better. I went into a match yesterday cold with a Blade I had never used before , won and had no issues adjusting to the frame whatsoever. For me, match play is where i really measure if a frame will work for me or not.
