Tendonosis in shoulder

Back in November of last year I hurt my shoulder while serving (poor technique, too much force, too many reps) and it took months of stretching and therapy for it to heal to the point where I could serve whole matches again. The last 2 months, shoulder hasn’t hurt at all. Last night I hit 1 serve and felt it go again. Should I give up on hitting hard serves and just hit them Mark Boone style? (Not a shot at you Mark, I promise!) I love the game and want to keep playing, but I also don’t wanna blow out my shoulder. I’m not even 25 yet, so it’s not looking good for long term if I keep this up.

Edit: It’s the side/back of my shoulder. Physio said tendonosis of the supraspinatus if I remember correctly

I got the same diagnosis but it was not bought on by one serve; more of a gradual thing. 1) Have a coach verify that your form is correct.
Should be able to hit 100 serves a day if you have good form and are relaxed. "Hard" serves should feel relatively effortless with proper form.

Normally I can play 3 sets hitting big serves with no issues. Lately I’ve been working on my ball toss, trying to throw it a little higher and let my arm extend more, which has helped my power and accuracy a good bit, but I feel like that is also what has caused my issues.

Sometimes on the serve, I straighten out my elbow too much (hyper-extension) and feel pain in the upper biceps/shoulder area.
Is that what happened when you suddenly hurt it?
