Greetings, everyone.

I recently got hired by an institute in Ljubljana, and if everything goes as planned, I should be staying here for roughly two years. Once I manage to sort things out, assuming that my financial situation allows for it, I might consider going back into tennis, but I have a couple doubts in my mind. As such, I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience playing here would take the time to elucidate.

  1. Is any specific kind of medical certificate required to even just rent the court for an hour? Because that is theoretically how it works in my native country, although as far as I know, no one ever bothers to check.
  2. Looking at the websites of some clubs close to where I live, I notice most of them have the option of paying a certain sum in order to have access to the courts once or twice a week for an entire "season". But what do they mean by that? Does that refer to the current year, meaning that if I take the offer in July I wasted 50% of it? Does it refer to the sport season (which generally starts in September where I'm from), meaning that if I start in July I wasted 83% of it? Or is it just a fancy way to say it works for one year or a literal season (i.e: 2024 spring) or what? My Slovenian course still has to start, so it might just be a translation error, but since it looks like an interesting offer I wanted to clarify.
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Shouldn’t you call the clubs and find out the details?

Tomaz Mencinger from Feel Tennis is somewhere near Ljubljana. I’m sure there is a tennis scene around there.

Jaz by Ana Ros in the AS Boutique hotel is an awesome restaurant. We enjoyed Julija also
Will keep that in mind. Plenty of great places to eat here.

There are a lot of people running and playing some sport or the other pretty much for as long as the sun is up around the city, competition is sure not to be missing.

I will be heading there in the beginning of April if you'd like to hit. I'm pretty available in the mornings.

Are you sure? I have been out of the game since December 2018, and even back then "mediocre" would have been a huge compliment for me, so I'm hardly someone worth spending the time and money to hit with. The plan was (money allowing) to take some private lessons to gauge how much oil my gears need and then see how to move from there.

If despite all that you're still interested, we can organize something. My racquets are still at home, though, so it will have to be after Easter (when my parents come visit me) unless you have a spare one to lend me.
