Tension with Poly/Synthetic Hybrid?

Typically how many pounds looser (or tighter) do you string a poly main compared to a synthetic cross?

Head Radical Trisys 260 Oversize racquet
Recommended Tension: 60 - 68
Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 17g mains
Yonex Tour Super 850 16L crosses

I know that typically they say string the mains about 2 pounds tighter but with a poly (which typically drop tension quicker than the multi) I thought it might be different.

Thanks.

Poly 4 pounds tighter?

Other way around--syn gut 3-4#'s tighter than the poly. Take 5-10% off the poly tension from your normal syn gut tension when stringing the poly b/c they are much stiffer. Go with something like 52-54/55-57.
Alot also depends on which poly you are going to be using--which did you have in mind and which syn gut cross? This will help.

Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 17g mains and Yonex Tour Super 850 crosses in a Head Radical Trisys 260 Oversize racquet ( recommended tension 60-68 ).

2 days ago when I gave the racquet to my stringer I told him 63 pounds for the Hurricane Tour mains and 61 pounds for the Yonex Tour Super 850 crosses. Typically it seems he's about 2 or 3 pounds above the tension I ask for.

Do I have the mains too tight? I can probably call and change the tensions.

A little too tight, I would string it more like 60/65 (since you're using an oversize racquet).

I string my Extremes with poly mains at 54 and nrg crosses at 58 as a refernce point

First, you should start with the tensions you like with that racquet with non-poly strings. Personnally, I don't like anything over 60, but maybe you do.

That poly should then be 5-10% lower than your normal mains. Some polys you don't have to go lower, like Topspin CF and CP, but I'm pretty sure it's recommended lower for yours. Then keep the crosses like usual. You could end up with what might seem a strange combo to you, like 56#/62#, but that's OK. And don't worry about what the "recommended" string tension range is, just go what works for you.

Problem is I typically use a 98 sq in head racquet (LM Radical MP) that has a recommended tension of 52-62 and string it at 54 pounds with all Yonex Tour Super 850 16g. This racquet (Head Radical Trisys 260) is 107 sq inches and has a recommended tension range of 60-68 pounds.

So I figured the 54 is 2 pounds over recommended tension for the MP so I would go 2 pounds over recommended tension for the OS. Therefore 62 pounds (63 mains/61 crosses=avg of 62).

If he hasn't already strung it I may have him change it to something like 60 pounds for the mains (poly) and 63 pounds for the crosses (multi).
