I personally cannot stand the whole Nadal and Federer rivalry because there never was one. Federer and Nadal's matches were so boring because most of the time we already knew Nadal would win.
Nadal has beaten Federer 17 times and he's only lost two slam finals against him. Now this year Novak Djokovic cemented his number one status by winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon! This match was absolutely huge for Novak because he had to prove he can beat Nadal in a grand slam final! Novak needed to prove he can beat Federer or Nadal in a slam final and he finally did it! This victory will give Novak so much confidence.
