Up Open Tickets Ashe Stadium - Ticket Question

All, I go to the US open every year. However, I always buy my tickets ahead of time. The prices on the ticket exchange go up and up every year (at least of ashe).

Does anyone have any experience in buying tickets day-of at a good or "huge" discount?

How I see it the logic makes sense, if they don't sell them they eat potential profit.

Thoughts? Input?

My only experience with this has been the men's finals; by about 4:10 PM there tends to be enough leftover tickets that the scalpers will sell them below-face, so as not to eat the loss. The rest of the time, the day's action is sufficiently spread out that they can usually unload their tickets without resorting to panic pricing.
