Vcore Pro 97 310 vs Prince Tour 100 310

I've tried the Vcore Pro 97 310 and am very interested in the Prince Tour 310. They seem to occupy a very similar space going by the specs, which fall right in my comfort zone. Can you guys chime in on a comparison? I'd be particularly interested in Sean's take, as he was on both playtests, and the Yonex is his racket of choice, while he had great things to say about my current racket, the Phantom Pro 100. Thanks!

I'd be curious about this as well... throw in a new phantom 100 18x20 while at it as well if you would be so kind..

@loosegroove @AA7

The main differences for me are that the Prince Textreme Tour 310 has a softer response (Twaron), higher launch angle, and more free power and stability than the VCORE Pro 97 310. The VCORE Pro 97 310 has better manueverability, targeting, and a more responsive feel at impact. I would say the new Phantom 100 18x20 has a way more "point and shoot" feel, and the stability is pretty close to the VCORE Pro 97 310. There is quite a bit of feedback from the thin beam, the ball pockets very well in the stringbed, and I feel the maneuverability is somewhere between the two mentioned above.

@loosegroove, even though they occupy a similar space going by the specs, I would say they are very different frames in my experience, although I really enjoyed them both.

Thank you Sean. Appreciate you taking the time to respond. You know how it is.... you answer one question, 10 more pop up.... if you find it in your heart to answer, i have one clarification and one additional question for you:

What do you mean by "point and shoot"? control/precision? Would you say power of Pro100 18x20 is between the Yonex and Tour 310 as well?

thanks again

@AA7,

No problem!

Point and shoot is a term we use to describe the phenomena of envisioning a path for the ball to travel on, and then the subsequent experience of where the ball actually goes tends to match up with that expectation. I think of it more as directional control, but that might just be me.

I think, due to its mass, that the Pro 100 18x20 has more stability and plow through, but the VCORE Pro 97 310 has cheaper power and depth, whereas the 18x20 will make you work a little harder for it with the higher swingweight, low flex and tight string bed.

New Prince Tour 100 has 2 versions; 310 and 290 grams. The lighter one has higher swing weight due to balance. 290 gr is the continuation of Tour 100T. Tour 100T has the label Power Level 850 on it. I can not understand why the new Tour 100 (290g) also has Power Level 850 even though it is stiffer and has a markedly higher swing weight than 100T. Can anybody explain?
