Volkl PB 10 mid vs midplus

I'm a 4.5 player, with one-handed backhand, and an all-court style of play.

I've been playing with the Volkl PB 10 mid for the past 5-6 years, and absolutely love the feel of this racquet. Wanted to try a larger head size for some more power, and demoed several modern racquets (Wilson PS 97, Babolat Aero pro drive, Babolat pure control, Yonex ezone DR 98, etc), but none of these gave me the feel that the PB 10 provides.

I've not hit with the PB10 midplus yet (98 sq inch head size), and it seems to be out of production. Anybody has any idea of how it compares to the PB10 mid in terms of feel, power, control, and maneuverability.

Any other racquets in the 97/98 sq inch head size that come close to the PB10 mid in terms of the feel of the PB10 with maybe a little more power.

Thanks,
Ashish

I used to play with PB 10 Mid and Orx 10 Mid before.
The feel and control of 93 and bigger head size can't be same.
You might consider Prince Response 97 or C10 Pro.

I'd try a Technifibre Tfight 315 ATP, Head Prestige Midplus, Prince Tour 98 or TT95.

All have a low stiffness which may be part of the feel you are missing.

Yeah, of many reviews I was reading, most people agree that the Yonex Duel Core G 330 or the previous model Tour G 330 play the most similar to the PB10 Mid, just with a larger head size. I just picked one up off the bay today, so I can't wait to try it out and see. I've played with the PB 10 mids for the last several years, but lately I've been wanting to try something else out that plays similar, but that offers a tad more power, but more than that, just something with more forgiveness.

The PB 10mp will feel less headlight than the Mid, but it will be more forgiving to play with, but the C10 will feel heavier to use. I've been experimenting with the Super G 10 Mid 330g strung at 45lbs and it has the fast feel of the PB10 Mid but definitely more power if that's what you are after. Its stiffness is 64RA and has the 96 head, has a nice feel with a modern twist. Head Prestige MP will be quite underpowered unless you drop the tension, more like the PB 10 mid but nowhere near as comfortable on the arm. Other options you could try are the Yonex Duel G 330g (97 Head RA66) or even a Prince Textreme Tour 95 (RA 60).

I cannot tell you anything about the mid, but since last december I own these two:

PB 10, 98 head, 18x20 pattern, 325gr. And boy, do I like them. Great for volleying and my 1-handed backhand. Coming from a Prince tour 100 16x18, this stick suits my style (classical, rather flat) excellent. And when strung with syngut or multi, or even a low tension poly, plenty of power for my tennis. There are still a few to have over here in the Netherlands (new old stock).

I wouldn't mind trying the mid though, but I think the 98 head suits me better!

I played the PB10 Mid. I'd recommend you try, if you can, the C10 and the Angell TC97. The latter is sublime.
