Since 2004?

We know about Fedrs other stinkers. Robredo, Stakhovsky, Seppi etc. But all those opponents played at a reasonable level on the day. Even Millman put in a solid performance against a woeful Fedr.

But Nishikori beat Fedr and he played rubbish, hitting only 6 winners and 22 unforced errors. He collected a total of six games in his next two matches. Fedr somehow was unable to do anything with Keis woeful second serve, which was certainly no better than in his next two matches.

It's incredible that despite playing so many "stinkers" this year (by Federer standards), he's #3 in the world and just won his group at the WTF. This is why he is the GOAT. Never count him out. Just when you are about to give up all hope - he delivers.

Not saying he's going to win the whole thing, but the guy is the ultimate in getting to the business end of tournaments.

The worrying thing these days is you don't know when he's going to produce these stinkers. Whether its Djokovic, Nishikori, Coric, Millman or Kokkinakis on the other side.

He Played well against KAndyman but he could produce a shocker in the semis.

The Millman one is still the worst for me. I'm sure he played some horrendous matches in 1995 or something, but post 2003 Wimbledon that Millman match is the worst one I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Closely followed by select other matches in 2018 though.

it might be. Maybe that match against Brands in 2013 or something, but Nishikori was garbage and Federer still got whupped, that's a record low.

I would say it’s a very worthy contender.

But great that he turned it all around with panache and style against Thiem and Anderson.

Yoda was just ****in with us..

What was so bad is that they couldn't get a rally started between them. I remember a lot of points where I barely heard their shoes squeak.

Wasn't even the worst match of the season. Maybe in the top 5.

He even had some wins this year that were worse than the Kei match.

Good point.

Watching him win in the rounds through to the Halle finals was exasperating. Everyone merely folded as he passively played rec level type tennis.

Seeing Coric beat Federer in that final was the first time as a Fed fan I was glad for the loss. It was completely deserved.

I also couldn't be too mad because Coric absolutely was the better player in their IW match. That was one of Roger's greatest ever Houdini escapes. He had no business winning that one.

I don't understand Fed fans. I wouldn't cheer for Bull if Bull had so many stinker matches. Thankfully, Bull is a winner and a fighter.

Nah mate, it was his best match ever. The tour constantly improves, you should know that by now. I know we are all a little in the dark when we join here and have respect for prior eras but that has to go out the window.

With every match players increase in level. I mean every second they discover something new about tennis. It's almost like a medical science.
