wat does having dif tensions on mains and crosses if u have the same string?

wat does having dif tensions on mains and crosses if u have the same string in the whole frame? if u string a full multi job, wat would increase/decrease the mains vs inc/decrs the crosses. thanx. i thought ppl only did it on hybrids??

I had the same question myself. From what I could tell, general opinion here is that mains > crosses produces more feel of ball pocketing, and crosses > main produces more crisp feel, and also prevents mains from moving as much. I experimented with several combinations myself and to be honest the difference was not that much one way or the other.

All assuming the same string. If different strings, then of course there are many other reasons for having different tension.

Again, this is from what I read on this board.

From what tried myself, I really couldn't tell much difference. (I tried 57/57, 56/58, and 58/56, all with the same strings.)

I'm 90% sure that you are 80% sure.

I think that means I have a 72% chance of being right, or, we both have a 72% chance of being sure-I don't remember what my old prob. stat. professor taught me.

But, I am 100% sure that I'm often wrong but never in doubt.
