What a crock! This is no surprise. They knew today would be a rain out when they scheduled Roger for tonight’s game and Blake for today. Now they can say but, but we tried to have the number one player on the largest stage.

The fans win though, cause Armstrong is a much better venue (assuming they can get in).

For a bigger arena, Armstrong is great for watching tennis... not really a bad seat in the place, and even the top rows are close enough to hear the ball being cracked. As FEDEXP said, this is a huge win for true fans and if I were still there, I'd be on the grounds as soon as they opened to get one of the seats right behind the reserved section.

(The first 5-10 courtside rows in Armstrong are reserved seating, but the rest of the stadium is first come, first served general admission. That means that if you are early enough, you can sit close enough to see the sweat dripping off the player's faces. This contrasts with Ashe where all of the seats are reserved... and the only way you will get close is if you know someone with corporate tickets, or if you bought one of the hideously expensive series packages, or if you bribe one of the ushers - which may not work if the stadium is packed. If I had to watch a match from the 100 or 300 level in Ashe - which are right next to each other ABOVE the suites - and there was no tennis action anywhere else on the grounds, I would probably leave because the matches would be better to watch at home on TV. Seriously. As I wrote in another thread, watching tennis from that level in Ashe is like watching two people play in a park from the top of a building across the street! Another person likened it to watching tennis on a Gameboy screen. Trust me... Armstrong is way better for the tennis fan!)
