What’s the one elusive racket that you still have not bought or found yet?

Honestly, after being gifted a Pro Am(ca 1970) about 9 years ago(maybe more), I can't think of a particular model that I've lusted after.
Would have been a Volkl SuperForm or maybe Rawlings TieBreaker a dozen years ago; but I've acquired multiples of those( I played a bit with both models in the '70s).
On the other hand, I've not been active in the collecting world since we downsized into the townhouse(still have about four dozen rackets from the '60s thru '90s). Original Aldila Cannon might be on the list if I were still looking.

The actual raquet that Novak hits the final ball of the last point of the 2021 US Open Championships to win the Title and achieve the GRAND SLAM! ;)

Seriously though, I would really like to get my hands on one of the actual Snauwerts that Mark Woodforde used in his playing days. I have a Wilson Steam 99S and I would love to compare the difference between them on court.

I would love to have a Kneissl Super Pro Vario, the weird, variable-balance version of the White Star Pro, in my collection as an oddity, though not as a “player.”

I too think it would be fun to have one of the three Snauwaert “Hi Ten” wide-string Barry Phillips-Moore racquet (as used by Mark Woodforde).

I'm pretty happy with my Rossignol collection so I'm not looking to add to my collection. There have been a couple of frames over the years that have sounded interesting and I'd like to hit with them though. The super flexible BastCore frames that were being talked about a few years back on the boards - I'd like to get my hands on one of them.

The Hi Tens are another series I'd be keen to try and I'd also like to try the Lacoste LT301.

I'm not especially hunting them right now but if any one of these happened to fall into my lap I wouldn't throw it away.

Do you have an F295?

Yes - back in Australia with the other three quarters of my collection. Never really enjoyed it. Stiff and the balance was a bit 'off' to me but I wouldn't mind getting some new strings in it. It felt like the successor to the F250.

I guess it would also be cool to have a Technort Stratos and a Hazell Streamline in my collection; as of yet, have never owned either.

Is that one of the models with the unusual string-lock system? Individual strings for each set of holes which stay tight with a crimp at each hole. Here's a picture of the regular Edge showing the string-lock system:

No, the Comfort Edge is a graphite racquet, made in Austria and sold in Europe in the mid 80’s

They made it in different weight and balance. They had an SL that was very light with a head heavy balance.

I like the Cayman TNT-90, but never pulled the trigger to actually get one. I have too many racquets as it is and want to downsize.

Liked it mostly because of the exposed woven fibers paint, but now I have a wilson PS85 with a paintjob with exposed woven fibers.

I couldn't say what the weight of mine is. I picked it up a few months after I bought an F290 and I made the mistake of taking them both to the courts, preferring the 290 and just not using it much after that. Pretty racquet though.

a Prince Pro 90 (aluminum extrusion) with zero scratches and the pussysoft vinyl cover in NBS (never been strung) condition.

Same here. A Super Pro Vario would pretty much complete my collection of Kneissl / Adidas made on this mold.

But then, I'd have to have it in two paint jobs: the lemon yellow of the 1st version and the white with red accents of the second.

I might be waiting for some time to find them...

How was it different from the regular graphite Edge sold in the US?
During the 80’s the racquets sold in EU and USA were different from HEAD. It was like there was 2 different companies. There was a large line of Edge racquets in Europe. While we had 4 in the USA (Graphite Edge, TXE Edge, Composite Edge, and Graphite Edge 2). I have a Graphite Edge for EU, it was made in Austria has an 18x20 string pattern, is silver pearl paint with blue and orange stripes. Very cool looking. The grommets started to split and break when I was striking it up so I stopped. Worst thing is to have shards of grommets in the frame.

I didn't care much for the Graphite Edge, but I thought the TXE Edge looked pretty cool.

I like the idea of racquet that comes apart like this for air travel.

Both the Jeanrot, which folded the handle up to the head:

and the Jenro, which came apart:

advertised their ability to become compact for air travel as an advantage.

Yes. It probably wouldn't be difficult to produce a variable length racquet using this method of construction too. You could adjust the size from 25" up to 28" pretty easily.

Several companies tried this idea to varying degrees of success. The Rayco Ruler, the middle racket in the picture below, is just about the worst racket in my collection of odd rackets! The idea was to slip the grip up or down to add or remove length and then put a pin through the grip to hold it in place. Terrible, terrible idea! The other two in the picture, the Vollmer Parabolic, on the left, and the Puma Boris Becker Super, on the right, were much better designs of variable length rackets. Both allowed the user to adjust the length of the racket via a screw in the butt cap.

If you are located in the US, PM me about the Bastcores.

I have a couple of F300's. One is a blue speckled paint and the other is more of a black speckled paint. Both very, very flexible. I have the maroon Jenro racket also. It was the hardest to come by. I really like that Pirelli racket too.

Funny you mention this. I had one of my F300's out on court yesterday. Played like a dream. I gave it to my 18 year old hitting partner who couldn't believe how it felt. In his words - "My racquet gets you the result easier but it feels nothing like this one!"

Yeah I should take out my Rossi F200.
I took my F250 out to the court last Saturday. :)

I have another Rossignol, an aluminum faced composite (like the Head Arthur Ashe). I've never hit with it though. I'll have to get it out, see what model it is.

RT was the solid throat...Kriek used that and the open throat R-40 for a while.

Yup - like Coachrick said, it's most likely the R40. I'm pretty sure the Johan Kriek autograph is just a re-cosmeticised version of this frame.

sorry @mad dog1 - didn't see your post. How did you find your F250 on court last week? I have mine back in Oz with a full bed of VS gut in it. Always found the balance a little odd with the 250.

The stiffer hoop and lighter weight than the F200 make it easier to play with. More power and maneuverability. :)
