What if Agassi...

What if Agassi...had not lost his hair (still have the "Image is Everything") motto?

And started off his carer on the right path like eating and training right. Say he had the mind and body of the 2006 Agassi (minus the bad back of course) back when he 1st started.

He would have won those 2 early French Opens and a lot more slams and tournaments right!!!

He would have put up a great fight with Pete and I would say he would have at least won more than 1/2 the head to head on hard court. Give Agassi the French opens and Pete the Wimbledon.

Could Agassi have had the Pete's results or better on Slams?

No. Sampras was virtually unbeatable at Wimbledon(when it played fast, slick) and the US Open(medium/fast HC). It was very difficult for anyone else to win at those majors. Andre didn't have to beat Pete when he won the W and US titles. Otoh, he was virtually unbeatable at the AO. Rebound Ace was tailor-made for his baseline game. His AO winning % was around 90%. IMO, he probably should've won another AO title. Poor shot selection and the inability to construct points cost him the 1990/91 RG titles. He tried to blast Gomez and Courier off the court and hit himself out of the match. The correct strategy should have been to play % tennis(low UE) and play long rallys and wear out Gomez/Courier. He learned those skills later from Gilbert.

The best case scenario for Andre was around 10 slams. Probably 5AO, 2RG. 2US and a single W.

I believe Agassi would have taken the following GS if he applied himself early

1990 French Open Andrés Gómez
1990 U.S. Open Pete Sampras
1991 French Open Jim Courier

Agassi’s Potential

Agassi reached more of his potential than almost anyone does on this planet . . . in ANY field.

looks like he could have gotten a few more French for sure.
its great that his career last as long as it did.

he accomplished more off the tennis court than on it.
only one of him unfortunately.
