what is the best leather grip?

I would like to replace my Head MG MP with a leather grip and add weight at the 12 o'clock position because I want to increase the swingweight (and power).

I didn't customize my frames before so I have a few questions about this. For example about which leather grip I should choose out of the following:

* Babolat Natural Grip 1.7 mm
* Wilson Premium Leather 1.8 mm
* Pacific Leather Grip 1.5 mm

Which one is the most comfortable one?
My first impression is choosing the Wilson because it is the most expensive one so I guess it will be of a good quality. Too, I prefer Wilson over Babolat as a brand. I don't know why. Just a matter of taste (but maybe Babolat is much more comfortable for me).

I would also like to know the weights of each of these grips and of the original Head hydrosorb grip as well because I need to know the difference.

Can anyone advice me?

ive switched all the grips on my 6.1s and k90s with babolat leather, i prefer it for some reason.

Although Wilson leather grip is not as good the Fairway, but it is still a nice grip. Well, it is good enough for my K90, N90 and PS85.

You need more choices.

I like Fairway, Head calfskin or Prince original calfskin (if going luxury)

I like the TW leather grips, Wilson, Babolat, Gamma, Pacific (in that order)

Never tried the Volkl leather grip.

I tried the volkl, not very good. Others might like it but I didn't. They have a waxy feel with no tackiness. I just got a couple vantage rackets with black leather grips which are very soft and tacky. Nothing else that I have tried comes close.

Wilson's are decent and fairways are good. By the way, fairway made a variety of leather grips with different textures and tackiness. Someone showed me a black fairway with a bumpy texture similar to a basketball or football but with smaller bumps. I have a couple blue ones(first thing I ever bought from TW) that are pretty tacky and several natural brown ones that are less tacky and thinner.

Where did you get your measurements for your grip thicknesses?

Currently available I believe the Vantage and the TW private label leather grips are the best that can be had especially at the price point. The black vantage are superb with no bleeding after a couple years use and absolutely confortable. The TW brand reminds me of the PK leather that I used to be able to get from Gregg at PK which were superb.

Fairway are the best IMO.

From a native online shop but I learned that their data is not completely accurate.
When I received the Babolat Natural grip ordered I read at the package 1.7 mm.
Wilson Premium Leather turned out to be 1.8 mm thick.
So these are the correct thicknesses:
Pacific: 1.5 mm
Babolat: 1.7 mm
Wilson: 1.8 mm

You're right. I choosed Babolat leather and I think it's a good one. I prefer it above Pacific because it feels softer and more comfortable to me.

I actually like wilson the most. I could feel the difference between wilson, and babolat leather grip. Thats why its the most expensive. But also, there TW Leather grip. Thats also nice.

I used to use leather until I tried out 2 overgrips. Very defined bevels with unmatched feel and a tad softer than leather with one overgrip.

I just bought the Gamma Leather grip this past week from TW, and it's a dull yellow/beige color. Reminds me of the color of week old guacamole. It's not very tacky at all, compared to the Wilson Leather, and it's A BIT thinner as well. On the three Radicals I have, I am using one Wilson, one Head Calf-skin, and one Gamma. The Head Calf-skin is very thin, but it's tacky and porous.

My frames all have big butts and until the TW wide & thin leather came out, I always had major problems starting the wrap, sometimes to the point of tearing the leather. Nice re-usable adhesive (like Babolat) too...

Definitely the thin, narrow TW leather. It allows you to use an overgrip without rounding the bevels (much) or enlarging the grip size. I've used Bab, Wilson and Gamma.

The Babolat has my vote. I was able to add to my sticks and only added 1 gram to the overall weight.

Wilson is a very good grip and I also like the unbranded TW leather replacement grips

I recently bought three leather grips: a Wilson and two TW leather grips of different thicknesses.

I guess all three are okay, but I am not truly happy with any of them. They are a bit hard and slick feeling.

I used to have Fairway leather grips on my old PS 85s, and those felt more comfortable and softer.

As a result I always use an overgrip on top of the leather grips. (I haven't tried Pacific or Babolat.)
