Hee,,
I am planning to buy a new set of rackets,,
And i was wondering what racket you would choose!!
ATM I'm playing with a Wilson KBlade Team,, and i'm searching for more controll
I have narrowed down my search to 4 rackets,,
- The Head Youtek Speed Pro
-Wilson KBlade Tour
-Wilson KPS 88
-Wilson K six-one tour
ofcourse I will test them but i'm just wondering what you would choose,,
Or another racket that would meet my requirements,,

Thnx Ace-N

Of the rackets you have listed, I have owned the kblade tour, K six-one and demo the K88. Based on my experiences, I have to vote for K90

Some questions:

1. What sort of game do you play (baseline, s&v, all-court)?

2. How many rackets will you buy once you have made your choice?

3. If buying multiple rackets will you buy at the same time or stagger them over a few months?

4. How did you get to your shortlist before demoing?

5. What do you like about your current racket, and what don't you like?

6. What strings and tensions do you and don't you like?

1. All Court,, like to come up to the net when the opportunity is there,,

2 I'm gonna buy 3 rackets after making my choice,,

3. Buying all the racket at the same time,,

4. Just reading reviews and other people at the club talking about how sweet there rackets are.

5. Like: It's an overall ok racket pretty average weight sweetspot etc, but just have the feeling i'm not getting everything out of my game,,

Dislike,, is the 100+ headsize,, it has just a tad more power over controll,, so the ball flies on me to often,,

6= Well I string my rackets myself and atm i'm in the low 60 with a poly in the main and a syngut in the crosses,,

Sorry one final question, do you get coaching if so has your coach given you any ideas about what your next racket should be?

Yeah thanx,,
but you don't have any advice of your own?

Not really. I have tried many times, and cannot reap any benefits from smaller racquet heads. I just thought that unless you are playing pretty well already, it is hardly likely that you will reap benefits from smaller racquet heads. Hence the question on how long and how often you been playing.

You should be asking some of the people proven to play decent games with midsize, like Drakulie and Jollyrogers (I think they play decent)...

ok, based on what info you've given I think your final selection is pretty good. My point about buying at the same time was one of QC; Wilson rackets are notorious for being out of spec badly. If you decide on a Wilson and get them at the same time you can get them matched, otherwise you'll be in trouble.

Three rackets is quite an investment so I would also consider checking the TW racket finder, put in the specs you want, I'd suggest at least 330g, minimum 4pts HL, headsize 90-95. and see what comes up. Yonex, Head and Dunlop make some very good frames with those types of spec.

Finally one thing I like to do is buy 2nd hand rackets from Fleabay. From this method I have found two of my favourite rackets, the Dunlop 200G Muscle Weave and the Donnay Pro-One Limited.

You can pick up the classic frames quite cheaply, they are usually structurally sound and IMO they don't make them like that anymore. In my bag at the moment I have 4 AG300s (bought new), 3 200G Muscle Weaves (all 2nd hand), 1 TP95 Muscle Weave (2nd hand) and one Pro-One International (barely 2nd hand). Total cost around £250, or less than 3 brand new rackets.

I'll check out the racket finder,,
