When is the next Prince Phantom generation comming?

Hi!

I really like these rackets and got a couple of them (93P 14*18). Looking forward to buying a couple more by the end of the year, but there are literally NONE available in Europe. Think there is just one in grip size 4 on TW EU, and that´s it (and I think it will be sold by the time I will get to it).

But on the US TW there are plenty of them. Does anybody know if Prince will be introducing the new gen of Phantoms next year and if there is time to get them, or I should rather hurry if I want to get a couple more?

Thanks a lot!

I don't know any intel, but I also hope they keep the line of flexible, arm-friendly rackets going. I've been thinking that their Phantom 100x 290g or 305g would be perfect for me, but I haven't seen any 4 1/8 grip sizes available for those and hope they'll come out for the next generation.

You might have missed that they had an absolute fire sale on these (in the US) just two weeks ago. Strongly indicates that they're trying to purge for a refresh.

I certainly hope so, and not that it means the line is just failing.

I have learned that the Phantom 107G has been discontinued and am very disappointed. I have no idea if a similar model will be included in the next version. Meantime, I have finally mastered my original Phantom 100 with the "O" ports. It took a while to adjust to the CTS beam. Having the widest part of the frame at the far tip led to maneuverability and ball timing issues. Its plushness is fantastic and much appreciated. It's great having a full line of racquets that are not arm killers!

Well, that would be such a shame. And the worst part is that in the EU there´s barely anything available, which surprises me big time. At least I hope that they will still have the 93P 14*18, and that it won´t change much. It is already hard enough to find a racket that fits you well, and it is even harder when they change them every now and then and you don´t even get the chance to stock up on what you like most.

The prices have snapped back to normal. I believe the sale was part of their 30th anniversary sale/promo. (grabbed four 100G’s at the discounted prices just in case ;))

That sounds recomforting! Pity I can´t order the stuff from the US, since here in Montenegro it is a huge trouble to get things that are over 100 USD.

I like my first gen 93P because it’s soft from being broken in from use and restringing. Each successive generation seems to get a little bit stiffer.

Yeah, that is what I fear the most - that the next get will get even stiffer. Hence the reason I am looking forward to get a couple of 93P´s more by the end of the year and have at least a stock of 4 for years to come.

Just my own thoughts but I think what Prince are doing right now is assessing how well the Tour ATS range sells and then deciding what to do with the Phantoms.
I think there has always been the sentiment that the Phantom range was a little under powered for many players and the new Tour kind of addresses that issue. On the flip side the test will be whether the new tour range is comfortable enough to appease the Phantom buyer if that makes sense.
Probably the Phantom line may benefit with some cleaning up. From what feedback I have got from my own clients it’s the 100P that had the most appeal. The 93 ‘s while have great feel will kind of appeal to a small demographic. The Pro 100 definitely lacks the power and could be liability for players having to compete against other players with more powerful sticks, particularly in the serve department. I think the 97P needs some extra mass to make it into a true tour frame whereas the 100x is probably an OK iteration.
Cosmetically Prince could do more of the deep purple they did with the 100P and give it a little more vibrancy to its sheen and finish.

Phantom line is great, hope they don’t mess it up with adding free power as that would take away the control which was the best selling feature of these apart from feel, touch and comfort.

I do feel like they have too many models and potential overlap with the Tour line.. especially when you consider the original Phantom (O3) is the actual descendant of the legacy Tour frames.

I've got no idea what kind of sales they're getting across the two lines, of course. I hope they make good choices and don't pull models that will really be missed.
