Wilson Graphite Matrix

okay so my friend Em was playing tennis today at the courts with my brother and she doesn't really play and since my racquets were getting strung she let me borrow a midsize wilson graphite matrix that she just had lying around in her garage. now I play with a K90 but this racquet is sweet. has a nice airy feel to it. does anyone have any info on this racquet?

must be the grey and blue. The black and red was sweet too but totally stiff. The grey one was totally flexible but accurate and not mushy. One of the greatest feelin racquets ever...felt like a spectrum comp, fischer vacuum pro or made in Belgium Donnay, almost a ceramic snap to it, a joy to play.

really? the black/red one is much stiffer than the grey one? I have both but never really played much of them, been sitting in my closet. I only remember the black/red is lighter and easier to swing, where the grey one is little clumsy.

I'm not sure about the first question.

However, since I have two I figured the more data the more potentially accurate the measurement.

The SW is probably slightly less than the KPS88 (345)... since the balance is the same and the weight is 0.1 oz. less.

Perhaps 335-340?

wow thanks for the measures!
Maybe I should do mine some day, but it is not strung at the moment.
I do remember though, my black/red one is surely less than 12.5 oz strung. I honestly liked the black one better. The grey one however is a good PS85 clone, if someone can do a PS85 paint job on it, it might be a nice St Vincent knock-off. :)

It's actually not a PS85 clone. The throat is narrower and longer above the grip. It's from the same mold as the Reflex.

Bud, I'm not sure about that swingweight. I believe that somebody once posted that the sw was in the 360's. Supposedly, this was from some trusted source...

On one of mine, the swingweight feels like in the 360's. However, on the other, the swingweight feels like it's in the 340's to low 350's...

I'm going by the fact that it's a hair lighter than the KPS88 with the same overall balance. Unless much more of the weight is distributed near 12 o'clock, it should be pretty close.

I'm not sure about your frames, but one of mine (the heavier one with the high swingweight) is about 2-3 points headlight... with 3 og's and 0 lead.

The other is about 8-9 points headlight, with just 1 og.

Your SW's will vary then.

Recall, too that these are the grey/blue racquets... not the red/black Matrix.

I purchased them at different times from different places and they are spot on in regard to weight and balance.

caught up in sorrow.... lost in my song!,
but until they just remade,
remade the prostaff!
know that there'll be nothing left to play with that will hit so right...

she's mine, she's friendly, she's down to earth, she's yogic. My chinese girl with the white buttcap (ps 85) can freak out and get tense sometimes when things move too fast. Matrix stays loose and flexible, keeps the play going

I've should string up one of my gray/blue matrixes (or matrices??) and have a hit with it :)

They just sit and stare at me from the corner of the room, currently.

How stiff is it? I have come to a similar conclusion but wasn't sure about the level of stiffness ( it might be around 62).

My dad just picked up two of these in 9/10 condition for $30. I was very interested in buying them myself but figured I'd better pass. I figure my dad would appreciate them.

I'll restring them for my dad in the near future and hopefully get out to hit before giving them back...

Resurrecting an old thread - picked up one of these at goodwill for $2.99. Looks like a 95sq in. Feels hefty but not that hefty.

still playing with this crazy thing. Nothing else feels as good. Maybe a Prince 93P? I can't remember if any of my Wilson 90s (which i've sold) feel as easy to play as this one?
