Wise 2086 on Neos 1000

I have gone through and searched for comments in this forum and others regarding the Wise 2086 tension head and the Neos 1000. Found a lot of complaints on the 2086 from 2 years ago (2006), but not much since then. Have their problems been resolved? The issues back then were bad string gripping, tensioner failures, and various quality and service issues. Most of these were posted on other forums.

So for those of you using the combination of the 2086 and the Neos - how is it working? Would you buy one again? If you had issues with the 2086, what were they and did they get resolved? Does the 2086 mount at the right height to the racket on the Neos - so that it pulls straight rather than at an angle to the frame.

I have been stringing rackets for over 35 years. Now I do it for just family and friends. I am not running a business. I am looking to move to a constant pull machine.

I believe Herb Wise made this machine to go with the Neos more than any other machines, so the tensioning height is ideal. His early versions were branded by Ektelon/Neos.

I have had mine for 2 years with no problems. I think it's a nice add on if you have an existing Neos. If you are thinking of buying a new Neos and new Wise($1700-$1800), you may want to consider a new electronic machine altogther.

Thanks for your reply. I should have been specific - I already have a Neos, and was looking for an inexpensive way to convert it to a constant pull.

I have a Wise on my Neos and love it. its been trouble free. So far Herb has been great to work with when I've had questions. I've found the foot pedal to be quite useful and I like have my hands free to move strings out of the way etc while the machine is pulling the tension.

IMHO highly reccomended!

Unfortunately I just ordered it from Herb directly. I hope that means I will get the latest version. I would hope that would happen.
