NamRanger said:Why not? His draw is actually looking VERY good. The only danger that I see in his draw at the moment is Baghdatis, but Roddick is so confident on this surface it seems that he's invincible in Cincy (except against Federer).

Gonzalez, Murray, Baghdatis, Ginepri still alive in his half alone. Nadal, Ljubicic in the other half. Other guys that have the goods to beat him. You don't consider them threats in much better form?
NamRanger said:On such a fast surface, it is extremely difficult to beat someone with a big serve. There are very few people left in the draw that can handle Roddick's serve, and now that Federer is gone, Roddick's got a ton of confidence, as he no longer has the "Ghost of I lose to Federer" over him.
Murray didn't thrash Roddick at Wimbledon, it was actually pretty close. On this surface, I would call Roddick a favorite, as his big serve and improving net game and approach shots would give Murray alot of trouble on this surface. Also Roddick's covering the net very well, and getting alot of agressive returns in at this point, and you know how Roddick plays when he has confidence. Gonzalez has no chance to defeat Roddick here, his backhand is a very big weakness on his return game, and usually a kicker will draw an error.
In the other half of the draw, Nadal and Ljubicic could possibly beat Roddick here, but you forget that Nadal has trouble against guys with big serves on fast surfaces. Ljubicic imo would have a much better chance of beating Roddick at Cincy then Nadal.
Roddick may be a one trick pony, but when the one trick pony gets going, it is very difficult to stop him.

And despite being a huge Federer fan, it's hard for me to see how anyone can return some of his serves, whether you know where they're coming or not.
