Wrist Tendonitis?? - I need help/advice

Hey guys,
recently ive been having what i think is possible wrist tendonitis for about 2 weeks now. I was playing at least 4 times a week, and very often 6 times for a while up until this came about. But about 2 weeks ago i noticed a bit of pain on the thumb side of my right wrist, I tried playing through it for a few days after, but the pain got bad enough i had to take about 3 days off before playing again. Ive been icing it and taking ibuprofen and im planning on taking another break since it still hasnt gone away. I just wanted some advice on how long should i take off to get the pain to go away, and then once i get rid of the pain (hopefully soon!) what things i can do so this doesnt become a reoccuring problem.
I really want to tackle this problem quick, as i dont want it to get out of hand. if you have any other advice on healing it or exercise that keep this problem away that would be great!
Thanks alot- Andrew

I experienced similar pain last summer, and the doc immobized my wrist, putting it in a removable cast that went up to about my elbow. I really just wore it when I slept or was using my wrist alot. However the best thing I did was ice everyday for 20 mins about 4 times, take 3 ibuprofen 3 times a day, and take off from tennis for 2-3 weeks. As far as after it heals, I'm not really sure. There are some good exercises on the web probably. Goodluck!
