Pretty much, which should I go for?

X-2
139 + 20 shipping
Appears to come with $100 gift pack

ATS Traveler
169+6 shipping
The base looks kind weird; not solid like klipper or x-2. The legs wouldn't turn while stringing, I hope
Comes with pathfinder, which I've heard is nice to have, but isn't anywhere near essential
Carrying Case

So, is it worth it to spend the extra ~15 dollars for the ATS? It's very likely that I'll take whichever machine I get around a couple times, but as for normal use at home, would they work out to be the same? I think the portability would be a great convenience, but the X-2 (And the ATS superstringer) base looks more stable, so pretty much if the traveler base works fine, I'll probably go for the traveler.
(As I understand it, the tensioner, clamps, and mounting system are the same)

I had an ATS Traveler(my first machine) and it was a solidly built machine.
It's built to be broken down and carried to different sites. The ATS Superstring II was the equivalent machine at the time and is very similar to the X-2, although built out of steel instead of aluminum. If portability isn't a consideration for you, go with the X-2, IMO.

I would agree. The X-2 is the better choice (of two good ones). The X-2 is lighter and the base of the machine has two storage drawers...good for keeping your tools safe. However, if you are traveling a bunch, the Travler does break done and make for better storage.
