I like watching Melz/Petz, and they've won 3 titles this year: Rotterdam; Stuttgart; and US Open
Course I also like Bryan brothers whose 2011 titles include Australian Open, Houston, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Eastbourne, Wimbledon, Vienna, and Valencia ... guess that's why they're the top seeds!

only good thing about the no-ad is that it's prolly responsible for the atp being willing to show SOME dubs matches streaming online ... never could figure out their bias against showing the doubles matches, but they must think fans aren't interested in watching them ... i am, so i don't get that :???:

seems like just a month ago but it was last year this time ... sentinel mentioned the repartnering of Bupathi and Paes, to begin with AO ... obviously, theyre still together ... anybody know whether theyre planning to team up up again in 2010? one's 37 and the other's 38, and they have yet to win the AO title . . .

Misread the standings you posted LG, thought both of my horses were at the bottom of their groups. Still, of course both of the teams I like would lose their first matches.
Luckily, I did get to at least watch Petzschner and Melzer today. Thought it was a very interesting match. Llodra and Zimonjic on the other hand, the streams were terrible that day, stuttering every 5 seconds.

hey ... that's good news! i thought they played very well in their first set today ... it was one of those close sets ... didnt see the second set, but they lost to the current leaders lindstet/tacao (?sp?) ... i keep hearing that they broke up for a while due to some "misunderstandings" ...... do you happen to know what that was about?

I'll be surprised if this isnt a good one ... especially since their standings in the RR so far are almost identical (see above) ... No. 3 seeds vs. No. 8 seeds ... i'm thinkin the number eights will play above their level again, as they did in their first match

Might it be Olympics related? That's a pretty big incentive to get back together. And, I'm sure that in order to qualify, in addition to being selected by the Indian federation (which they surely would be), they probably have to have a certain ranking and have played together during a certain period before the Olympics.

a defensive lob by Bhupathi went up high and seemed to get lost up above the electronic scoreboard, so Zimonjić screams out "c'mon" as if having won the point, assuming the ball was gone, certainly he lost sight of it, next thing the ball lands just behind him on court!
Llodra runs around and smashes it clean at Paes who has stopped playing.
Paes and Bhpathi protest interference that Zimonjić has screamed out during the point.
Umpire Lars says replay the point.
This critical point swayed the tiebreaker, the set, and the rest of the game. When the balls gets lost past the spotlights and the electronic screens and scoreboard I wouldn't be screaming c'mon but would keenly watch for it. I think it was interference and should have been treated as such, agree?

I think I agree cuz I thot I heard Graf say that it was "involuntary hindrance" (due to the "cmon" being an excited utterance) but a hindrance nonetheless, and he seemed to say his ruling was straight out of the rule book .... IIRC

Zimo was pretty pissed and Bhup calmed him down but it took a while and to tell truth the pair didn't look comfortable from then onwards, as if they felt the luck was against them...

that was weird all right ... especially since the com i was listening to said the rules indicate that vocal hindrance causes loss of point ... did IndoPak lose that point? or did they do it over?
anyway, there were multiple situations during that match where IndoPak felt hard done by ... it was close, and they might have won if they had been able to keep their cool ... there was another serena moment when bhup was questioning the line judge closely about a foot fault call
yeah i hate it too that no-ad scoring ... takes out one of the quintessential aspects that makes tennis tennis ... sounds like they did it to try to get more top singles players interested in participating ... and since it seems to have done that, i'm doubting they'll change back

K so ... i hadn't been aware that bhup/paes were known as the Indian Express before there was an IndoPak Express ... point is moot tho cuz the com said today that this was the last tournament bhup/paes would play and would not be together in 2012 ..... howEVER, they beat the us open champs today, 75 63 ... go figger ... why wouldnt they stay together for the olympics?
