yonex rd power 5

Anyone any experience with the lime green/optic yellow Yonex RD-Power 5 that was never released in the states? It's supposed to be similar to the RD-Power 6 which was VERY flexible, but standard length, and unlike the RD-Power 6 didn't sell at recreational racket prices.

My main problem with the RD-Power 6 was that it didn't have the vacuum pressure molding of the Power 7 and 10s. Otherwise, I would have preferred it to those two, as they were just alittle too poppy and powerful for my tastes.

Anyone know if this does have the vacuum molding? Also, does it have the OPS? None of the RD Power series had this feature, yet I found the old Yonex spec sheet/graphic for the Power 5 on the Yonex Russia sight and it lists a OPS as one of its technology features, whereas this wasn't listed for the RD Power 7/10 on the same page.

Since this was an official Yonex advertising caption, I don't think they'd misprint something as important as that, but you never know.

Thanks for any info.

My school coach has some yonex friends. I recently cracked my racket, and while I am in the process of getting another one my coach is letting me borrow his RD power 5. I have no idea where he got it... I didnt even know it was supposed to be a "rare" racket in the states until I saw what you said about it never being released in the US.

If you want, you can ask me how it plays... but I'm afraid I can't tell you what's inside the racket. I play quite nicely with this racket... I actually wondered into this thread hoping to find the specs on this racket so I can get a better idea of what rackets to look for, so if you happen to know please post them... thanks very much.

Yes, how does it play? Thanks for any info. Does it have the OPS, oval pressed shaft?

This racket was not released in the US, but is available from a few places.

I cannot find any specs after googling for 10 minutes.

Supposedly this racket came out of the RD 7 mold, so if anyone has any info on this racket, it would be appreciated.

Specs I know so far:

320 grams unstrung
16x19
20-22 mm beam (dont know exactly)
95 Sq. inch head.

Made only for the Japanese market!

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'd like to know if there's anyone to share some information on how this racquet plays.

My sister used it back in 2000-2001 and I just found it lying at my house almost intact.

Later I'll post some pictures... it's a beauty.
