I've met and spoken to Boris many times since 1985 at IW. While I was never a fan of his, he was never anything but polite to everyone, accommodating to fans, and very approachable. Having seen Zverev there several times as well, I can tell you the difference in their arrogance level is astronomical. Boris was polite, Zverev openly snubs even kids who nicely ask for an autograph.
The fact that Djokovic has had the unbelievable career that he is had, and still remains very nice to fans, a completely nice guy to everyone in my experience, speaks volumes. It's been well known for several years that the ball people and lines people at IW can't stand Zedrot and for just cause.

But yeah, I get what you mean. It's an era of tennis that will never happen again. Maybe something great and different will later but it won't be the same and that's fine. There will never be another Sampras. There will never be another Fed. Etc. But I'd love to see someone dominate by playing a very overwhelmingly intense and intelligent tennis game and I feel like he brings that in a way I don't see from other players.
Then again, I don't watch a ton but I really see something special in his tennis and I hope it/he has the chance or time or luck to make the best of it.
