*UPDATE: The Luxilon String Playtest is now closed. Thank you all for your participation!*

Attention Talk Tennis Members:

We have partnered with Luxilon to participate in a prototype string playtest. This is exclusively for Talk Tennis members from the United States only.

If you would like to take part in this string playtest, please visit
http://www.protennis.us/Prototype2011.asp. You will be asked to provide your name, address, phone number, and email address. Participation is limited.

Sign-up will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, November 13th. We have a limited quantity of strings so please be aware that it is on a first come, first serve basis.

It is important to note that you will receive 1 of 2 possible strings. The prototype sets are sent in a poly bag with a web link label on the front. The link is for a survey that you will need to complete. Please keep the poly bag as you will need to visit this link at the end of the testing.

All playtesters are asked to fill out the survey on, or before, December 5th.

All playtesters who complete the survey will receive a special offer from TW and Luxilon via the email address that they provided when signing up.

Please respect this special opportunity by only registering one time AND not submitting false addresses to receive extra sets of string. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Happy hitting!

Luxilon is premium brand. this string could brreak the barrier between natural gut and polyester strings.

Well since I don't use poly I pass this one. But looking forward for the Wilson multi test.
Hopefully don't miss the sticky thread like I did the last time.

You may need to re-register..!

Hello all...

I run Luxilon's website and have just been advised that this offer was posted earlier on TWTT.

Unfortunately, the website page used for registering applicants was still in demo/test mode so the details of anyone who signed up before 1:15 am EST on Wednesday was not saved.

If you're one, I offer my apologies and request that you please re-register.

Thanks. Enjoy your test strings. We are looking forward to your feedback...

Signed up for this one too. Still haven't found court time to really play a best of 3. Court space is so limited here because there's only one tennis center. :(

I know this is like the explanation of stupidity but I filled out my address in a rush this morning and made a typo. Just resigned up. Hope I don't get disqualified -_-

Probably not. But I'm always interested in trying new strings. Especially if they're free...

this could be the answer to the RPM blast and will give babolat real run for their money. RPM's been selling like HOT cakes. now Lux must respond with something even better.

They made savage to counter RPM. It's a 6 sided shaped poly string...

the only reason RPM sells is because of the guy who plays with it

If Nadal is what mattered, they would have sold the Duralast like hotcakes but they didn't. String has to perform, otherwise it won't sell no matter who plays with it.

true, but savage is completely different playability-wise. does make sense that lux would want to make another string to compete, for me at least

Agree. Lux needs to come out with SPIN like RPM with More power and Longer lasting,,,at least 8 hours and better control with feel and ball pocketing...

Savage isn't the competition to RPM. RPM, rather, is the competition to ALU and ALU-R. It's a flagship v. flagship. Only the best players in the world play with and endorse them. Savage and Adrenaline are made for people who want to use the name Luxilon, but cannot afford the short playability window that ALU provides. Not surprisingly, RPM is exactly the same in that regard.

So you want your car to have the performance of a Pagani, the reliability of a Hondda, the looks of an Aston Martin and the price of a Honda Civic and then be personally endorsed by Michael Schumacher. That's basically what you just said.

And your Duralast argument is atrocious. That is what Nadal began using years ago. It was what he was used to. Only the super anal TTW'ers knew what Duralast was let alone that Nadal used it. It was only when Babolat came out with RPM with their top players publicly talking about it that it became popular.

Nadal was marketed as using pro hurricane tour, before he endorsed RPM. Pht did sell like hotcake. So many guys on my team used to buy those strings. Pht and duralast are a big difference though. In my book pht is a pretty good string, duralast on the other hand has no feel for me.

I would rather play with syngut than use duralast.

And I actually talked to a babolat representative. He told me all of this right before rpm came out. I had no idea that nadal did not use pht, but the babolat guy said he rely did use duralast no matter how bad it was.
