Hopes that djokovic will never win another grandslam, believes he will win 3/4 next year LOLLLLL
I absolutely agree with the first post except nadal will win wimbledon. two sided rivalry.
Murray won't win any next year with his back surgery.
AO final - Wawrinka def Djokovic 7-6 (7), 5-7, 6-4, 6-3
French Open final - Tsonga def Nadal 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5, 2-6, 8-6
Wimbledon final - Berdych def Federer 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, 4-6, 9-7
US Open final - Isner def Murray 7-6 (9), 5-7, 7-6 (3), 1-6, 7-6 (4)
It would be a serious blow to tennis to see Isner win a GS.
AO final - Wawrinka def Djokovic 7-6 (7), 5-7, 6-4, 6-3
French Open final - Tsonga def Nadal 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5, 2-6, 8-6
Wimbledon final - Berdych def Federer 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, 4-6, 9-7
US Open final - Isner def Murray 7-6 (9), 5-7, 7-6 (3), 1-6, 7-6 (4)
Refer here for my almost perfect 2013 predictions.
2014:
Australian Open: Nadal
French Open: Djokovic
Wimbledon: Federer (last Wimbledon, possibly last GS)
US Open: Djokovic
Novak is being WAY overrated in this thread. He will win 1 slam next year max and I wont be surprised if he wins none. Then again if there is one player regularly overrated by everyone- bookies, fans, commentators, it is Novak Djokovic.
Yea, but there is a good reason for that.
He's in every GS semi-final in the last 3 yrs... Thats something.
AO final - Wawrinka def Djokovic 7-6 (7), 5-7, 6-4, 6-3
French Open final - Tsonga def Nadal 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5, 2-6, 8-6
Wimbledon final - Berdych def Federer 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, 4-6, 9-7
US Open final - Isner def Murray 7-6 (9), 5-7, 7-6 (3), 1-6, 7-6 (4)
That would honestly be devastating to tennis.
Federer could win his last slam on his favorite surface at the most prestigious tournament in all of tennis, ending his illustrious career with a bang. Instead he loses to a guy who is notorious for being a dick (or atleast used to be a dick).
Nadal's era of dominance at the French is ended, signaling the end of the big 4 era as a whole.
Djokovic's biggest chance to regain his confidence after going 1/5 in slam finals recently (his favorite surface, best slam for him) is completely destroyed, and he may not recover mentally.
Instead of Murray continuing his path to all-time greatness, the man who wins the USO is a servebot with a return game of a junior.
Heart says;
AO: Wawrinka def. Djokovic
FO: Almagro def. Nadal
W: Haas def. Federer
USO: Gasquet def. Murray
Head says;
AO: Nadal def. Djokovic
FO: Nadal def. Djokovic
W: Nadal def. Djokovic
USO: Nadal def. Djokovic
Every good thing comes to an end at some point, my friend. The era of big 4 is over in 2014.
Federer cries one last time on center court at Wimbledon whilst Berdych is all smiles. Fed walks away waving to fans one last time.
Nadal's legend in Paris comes to an end when France finds its first FO champion since Noah in Tsonga. Nadal goes home fishing, thinks about retirement.
Djokovic is devasted after the loss at AO against Wawrinka who this time plays the match of his life and brutally ends Nole's dominance in Melbourne. Nole never reaches another Slam final again.
Isner destroys everyone with his 140s mph serve en route his first Slam. He loses just 3 service games before meeting Murray in the final. Isner's ROS is as usual, pathetic for a Slam finalist, but he takes Murray to 3 TBs and wins them all. Murray wins a couple more Wimbledon titles but no other slam.
Nah! Not gonna happen
Nadal and Djokovic are fine players. But lets hope for variety's sake that your heart wins out (though I prefer Federer winning Wimbledon ).
AO - Djokovic
FO - Nadal
W - Murray
USO - Nadal/Djokovic (too close to call)
This.. except Djokovic for the US Open.
This.. except Djokovic for the US Open.
I know this is a fanboy dream but Federer winning the AO, W and USO one last time would AMAZING!! He would be the GOAT of 3/4 majors and basically cement himself as the overall GOAT but not gonna happen.
nole gets exactly zero slams in 2014.
nadal has nole figured out. he just took him out twice on his (nole) best surface.
what do you think he is going to do to him on clay next year?
Who wins the slams then? I am guessing the only options then are 3 for Nadal and 1 for Murray, 2 for both Nadal and Murray, or all 4 for Nadal. Unless you have a surprise winner.
well we know that nadal is taking RG so that is 1.
Australian open is so critical for nadal. he has to strike while the iron is hot. this will basically and virtually assure that he will go after the record. this puts him in a near perfect position to declare his assault on history.
i think Wimbledon will be tough because the domination of the clay circuit is starting to take a lot out of nadal mentally and physically.
i say andy murray defends Wimbledon. nadal gets the other 3.
I think the most likely scenario next year is 3 slams for Nadal and 1 for Murray. I think all 4 for Nadal, and 2 for Nadal and 2 for Murray are also possible too though.
The French and U.S Open will be Nadal's. The Australian Open and Wimbledon will both be toss ups between Nadal and Murray. Nadal if he reaches Murray at Wimbledon will win, and if he loses early round (definitely possible) Murray wins. Nadal and Murray will play in the Australian semis or final and the winner will win the event.
That is what I see next year playing out. What about you.
