It's Okay if he throwed the towel. I'll still be rooting for him this NA Summer.
Grass is not his favorite surface. So no biggie. All he wanted is to reach a QF here which did not happen.
At least he did his best regardless of his struggles.

It's "no biggie" that Kei retires at the most important tournament in tennis? I thought only young Djokovic was the only top player to just quit in a major? I really cannot believe all the hype about Kei, he is ALWAYS injured and can never hold up in the rigors of the sport. For God's sake he needs to get into better shape. Period.

I was expecting an early Air Nippon departure for three rounds because of his fragility. Of course it happened a round too late for Kuznetsov, who might have troubled Cilic today.

Tennis loses with these crapouts. It's Manic Monday, the best day of tennis all year and we have one less contest to bask in.:(

Quite sad about Nishikori. Very talented player but very limited physically. Just how many times now has he had to retire half way through tournaments because of injuries/exhaustion? Way too many times. Unless he finds a miracle cure (perhaps go gluten free :D), he will never be a serious top contender.

Why was he so able at the USO a few years ago? That was a really physical tourney....

Oh no, what the heck happened to him THIS time???:eek:

This guy is so talented and yet he can barely string 3 or 4 matches together without pulling a sickie or springing an injury!!!

On the other hand, maybe Cilic is just a bad match-up for him since their 2014 US Open final? Maybe it was more mental than anything and he called it quits to avoid another beatdown?
