Does this dampener conform to USTA rules??

I guess it's not legal. I think it's because it covers so much string.

This is the Silencer dampener:

The NXG Silencer is different. I'm fairly sure it's legal as long as you put it outside of where the crosses and mains meet (the box areas)

Yes it's legal to use. As others said, make sure it's below the bottom cross.

If you use it the way it is suppose to be used with the loops locked in at the intersection of the bottom mains and crosses it is illegal. A small part of the loop would be above the bottom cross. If you just looped around the mains below the crosses, I don't know well it would stay on or how well it would dampen.

This one (the NXG Silencer) is legal.
It was the Silencer that was not legal.
Pretty confusing of Prince to have such similar names.

I own two of them. They really stay on the strings. Like all silencers, all they do is change the pitch from a high pitched sound to a more pleasing lower pitched sound. No real vibration dampening effect on the arm though.
