I hope all the Chelsea players are a quid this season, after their performance last time out.

There was a La Liga match in 2012-13 where all 11 players on the pitch were from La Masia. 10 Spaniards and a certain Argentine. Soon everyone in the starting 11 will be foreign. All started with putting sponsors on your shirt.

It has obviously been better before. Apart from Sergi Samper, there are also some other promising players like Oriol Busquets, Carles Alena and Seung-Woo. We also had Halilovic, "The Croatian Messi", but after being on loan in Gijon, he was sold to Hamburg a few days ago. There still are good players, but I fear they won't be getting much chances in the first team in the future which will obviously make them seek playing time elsewhere. How are your youngsters doing? The Barcelona prospects. I'm only really familiar with Sergi Samper. Has La Masia lost its way?
I am their fan as well, here is hoping he plays well in serious games.
One man I really wanted to succeed at Liverpool (though he wasn't from Red Star before) was Milan Jovanovic. Excellent forward in Standard Liege and was good at the World Cup, scored a winner against the Germans, awesome scenes. But he only scored a goal or two and played for one season, pity.
It's official!
Mario Götze has returned to Borussia Dortmund. Excellent replacement for recently departed Mkhitaryan.
I don't like comparing stats from different leagues, but it sure is crazy paying 120 million for any player. Maybe you should start mocking when the transfer happens, nothing is official yet. And don't you criticize The Dab!Higuain to Juventus for 80m is mental. He's a decent striker don't get me wrong, but 80 million?!?!?! Jeeez.
Pogba vs Milner
Don't know if he is in charge of the numbers, but that wasn't nice from the club. Rumors obviously started that Martial wants to leave because of that, the media really are desperate for some stories.Oops, forgot to add.

Mourinho working his magic again I see
It was supposed to be played in Beijing, not Manchester.Must be some terrible weather in Manchester to cancel the City/United feud today.
This was their response to the rumors back in April.Dortmund fans must be fuming.

Now that you mentioned Higuain, I thought of a comparison. Higuain 38 goals and 3 assists - cost 80 million, Ibra 50 goals and 13 assists - cost free.

"Milan or Madrid - Just not Dortmund! P1ss off Götze!"
This is a good test to see if they are consistent or not.
Those fans who threw the jersey away are probably now trying to recover it.This was their response to the rumors back in April.

He has many more dancing celebrations. And I will pretty much always prefer them (including Sturridge) over the arrogant a$$h0le ones or the ones shushing the crowd.Agreed. And lol, that dab thing is weird, especially as a celebration. Then again, Sturridges dance is weird too but at least it pisses the bitters off so I'll take it
The club has enough money for everything, but some of the wages are just too high IMO. Schweinsteiger is in their category as well and he has spent more in the hospital than on the pitch.Lol good one. Although I suspect Ibras wages are massive, Rooney esque probably.
Ouch. Those fans who threw the jersey away are probably now trying to recover it.
4 year contract and he cost around 22 million. They sold him for a bit less than 40 million three years ago so it's good business.

Guys like Totti, Iniesta and players who already left Europe (Xavi and Gerrard) are the only remaining true club legends and we will rarely ever see these types of players in the future IMO because unfortunately, money does the talking nowadays. Players have turned into merchandise. Some leave for more money, some go for more trophies, but surely there are some transfers that happen against the player's will. That's why I don't care much about the transfer (to a domestic or European rival) itself but rather look at how former players behave towards their former club after. For that reason I lost a lot of respect for Tevez after his goal celebration in the Carling Cup and him holding the RIP Fergie banner for which he openly refused to apologize while at the same time I still like and admire Ronaldo a lot.I disagree. Some things are more important then money. I was at Gerrard's friendly a couple seasons ago and although I didn't boo Torres I couldn't "support" him either. Would never take him back at Liverpool, no matter what. And to be honest it was wonderful watching him flop at Chelsea. I bet the vast majority of the Dortmund fans feel/felt the same about Gotze. Don't know the full story behind his transfer to bayern and all that but my guess is he should start firing on all cylinders from the get go if he wants to get (some of) the fans off his back.
Don't know about my all time favorite (never payed much attention to celebrations in football as much as in tennis) but I really liked the reaction to Van Persie's late winner against City away a few years ago. When looking at the celebrations alone you wouldn't be able to tell who scored. Players and fans celebrated together a big derby win. All that mattered was the club winning what already felt a bit like a title decider, it wasn't important who exactly scored, which I really liked.Dunno I'm not a big fan of all these dance celebrations, they look so fake and passionless. I love the shhh when it comes from a Liverpool player, my all time favourites are the Fowler one against Everton in 1999? I think and Gerrard kissing the old Trafford cameras and reminding the mancs who are the greatest club in the land!
I forgot a bit about that Fowler case. Did Everton fans start a fire somewhere with an insult?I disagree. Some things are more important then money. Sunderland are ready to feel the Moyes.
Looks like that fat boy Raiola doesn't have enough money to swim in yet. Many are expecting Paul Pogba to push them all down by one spot, but it seems there is a little problem with who will pay his agent, who wants 20 million for himself.
Nacho Novo joins Glentoran.
Paddy McCourt at Glenavon and Roy Carroll and Sammy Clingan playing for Linfield. Irish League is where its at in 2016/17!
Santos have confirmed they accepted Juventus' 20 million Euros bid for a 19 year old attacker Gabriel Barbosa.
Should Higuain deal happen as well, that's going to be 6 signings for Juventus (Benatia, Dani Alves, Pjanic, Pjaca, Higuain, Barbosa). They are building a very strong squad to challenge the rest of Europe again.
Meanwhile, the record breaking Pogba transfer to Manchester United still hasn't happened yet...
2011-12 champion - Juventus, zero losses, 4 point lead over 2nd placed MilanLoving those signings. Serie A is going to be a walk in the park for them though. Hopefully the lack of competition domestically doesn't hinder them in Europe.

I am a bit confused with Gotze's situation. Bayern triggered the release clause that he had in his Dortmund contract and he had to go. I don't remember him saying anything bad about BVB though I don't follow interviews that much. On his return to the Signal Iduna Park he scored and didn't celebrate. They are still hostile towards him. Also when Hummels was about to leave, in one of the last home games of recently finished season the fans had a banner The captain is abandoning the ship and booed him a bit. With Lewandowski though, they are totally fine. He tried to move to Bayern in summer of 2013 and complained how the club are forcing him to stay (which is ridiculous, he signed a contract until a certain period and he has nothing to moan about). When he became a free agent one season later, he signed for Bayern ("he wants a new challenge" lol) despite as a world class striker certainly having more options. Still they organized a nice farewell for him in his last home game for Dortmund and didn't boo him. Maybe it's because he is Polish (foreign) and the fans look at him as a traveler who is just doing his job while they expect more from their German boys...

Didn't Fowler get a fine and suspension for that celebration?
Sexy Dimitar's day, I couldn't forget Gerrard's contribution even if I wanted to. Pity Stevie got stuck with kissing the cameras while the Mancs overtook his club in league titles and kissed them instead.
Edit: My bad I was thinking about his camera kiss in 2010-11. The spoiler is from 2013-14, right?
I forgot a bit about that Fowler case. Did Everton fans start a fire somewhere with an insult?
Again, pity all those kisses weren't crowned with something else. No, you're right that pic is from October 2010, he had just scored his second goal in 10 mins to make it 2-2, immediately run off to the corner with the Liverpool fans, kissed the cam after a classic knee slide and then did that 5 times salute
He hasonly kissed the cam three times. March 2009 (1-4), the one I mentioned above and most recently the 0-3 win in THAT season. Same opponent, same end, same cameraman. Yep, a Stevie G classic
RE: that trophies reference . Well he HAS kissed the big one, inspired the arguably greatest comeback in European cups, so everything else is a bonus really.
Now I don't remember how the Torres transfer happened, except that it was in January and for a lot of money. Did he request a transfer?Cheers for the write up. Didn't know all that as I don't follow German football very closely. To the point, I agree that one club legends like Gerrard and Totti are very rare to find nowadays, and don't get me wrong I don't expect every one of our best players to stay forever, obviously. But what I can't accept is selling them to our biggest rivals. I suspect the Bayern-Dortmund rivalry is a bit like the Liverpool - United one, eh? Maybe not as fierce but still. It's impossible for me to imagine a player leaving Liverpool for Man United or Everton AND then coming back, no matter how good he is, what he did there, if he celebrated against us etc etc. That's why I I said that I think the dortmund fans won't be very happy with his transfer.
But you've got a point, you can't find one club men anymore, and obviously if someone wants to leave, fine move him on, but the first option should always be selling him abroad, I was devastated when suarez left but at least he went to Barcelona, and he's shown he's got huge respect for Liverpool. Compare this with the Torres transfer or even worse the Sterling one (although Sterling is dogshite, 50m was daylight robbery lol) and you clearly see the difference.
Remember Adebayors celebration against Arsenal? lol. It was hilarious watching him going mental on the telly, can't possibly imagine how these arsenal fans felt in the away end.
Again, pity all those kisses weren't crowned with something else.
And it's not like some of our current players haven't kissed the big one, if anything our trophy is more recent.
Now I don't remember how the Torres transfer happened, except that it was in January and for a lot of money. Did he request a transfer?
Can't say I felt sorry for him failing (I actually tolerate Chelsea less than Liverpool ) and it was hilarious seeing him miss some sitters. Especially the one against us and the fanzone reaction still brings a smile to my face.
Bayern-Dortmund is Der Klassiker, nowadays the biggest fixture in German football since they are the most successful recently. But I never thought the rivalry is similar to Liverpool-Man United or Real-Barcelona. I don't think German fans have that kind of hatred or whatever you want to call it. If there is any German rivalry that is similar to the ones I mentioned, it is the Revierderby (Dortmund-Schalke). It's not a city rivalry, but a regional rivalry as both clubs are in the Ruhr region. That is the only one I remember in the Bundesliga where things can get messy sometimes.
He was suck a pr1ck in that one.
True, Stevie G is a legend.Oh well, football is not just about trophies is it. It's about memories and oh boy has Stevie G gave us plenty of those to remember.
Btw, Traore 1 Cantona 0
He handed a transfer request a couple of days before the end of the January window, right after we rejected Chelsea's original offer. We had just bought Suarez, had Kenny in charge and new owners but he was desperate to leave... We finally accepted Chelsea's 50m bid in the last day of the window. Absolutely heartbreaking. I thought he had a special relationship with the fans, that he understande what Liverpool is all about so going to Chelsea of all places was a dagger in the heart. A few weeks later makes his debut against us, gets punched in the face by Agger, 0-1 win. Payback. First of many.
That miss has got to be one of the worst ever. Beautiful, although I wish it were against some other team!
That stinks if he handed a transfer request. I really thought he would become a Liverpool legend. He lost it since the transfer to Chelsea, I haven't seen a striker drop his form over night without suffering a big injury like Torres did.He handed a transfer request a couple of days before the end of the January window, right after we rejected Chelsea's original offer. Explain to me again, how exactly is it Traore 1 Cantona 0? Is this some international cup bollocks? Refresh my memory.
The rumors are that Real contacted Juventus in attempt to take Pogba. Di Marzio though, which I think has been usually a reliable source, says his return to Manchester will be finalized in the next 2 days.
This is turning into a soap opera now...
They don't make stuff up often from what I have remembered over the years. Looks like your boy will finally be back home.It is being finalized right now, according to sky sources.

Are those four signings Mourinho was talking about the only four you will get this summer or just priorities?
You would definitely benefit from getting a good center back. Last season I think was more because of that possession philosophy from Van Gaal and De Gea's form that Man United conceded a relatively low number of goals in the league. Bailly, Blind, Smalling, Jones and Rojo aren't very impressive if you ask me.I'm not really sure about other signings right now. We continue to be linked with players, but I'm looking at the squad and I can't see where we can strengthen . Maybe another right back, although Mourinho might try and convert Phil Jones so he can compete with Darmian. Can't really see a place for Jones as centre back now. He has played at right back before.

I will make sure I bump this in case he scores against Liverpool and performs his Dab.Yeah Sky are reporting it now so it looks done. 95-100m bid accepted + 20m Euros for his agent, wow.
Fingers crossed he fails massively
There's no doubt fans will expect him to hit the ground running, and if he doesn't, well things will certainly get interesting!
I cant see them going after another centre half, they've already spent 30m for that bloke from Villarreal. Maybe a cheapish, experienced one but certainly not a big name. Then again, it's United + Mourinho, you never know with them.

With Van Gaal and without any kind of European football, Manchester United smashed the British transfer record for Di Maria, one of Real Madrid's (then European champion) best players. Just to post this before the imminent Pogba deal skyrockets us into 1st...
Expected to see the first four there, while Bournemouth make a surprise appearance as the 5th club in EPL with most money spend in this summer transfer window.
Returners to the Premier League Middlesbrough and Europa League contestants West Ham have brought in the most players so far.
