Serena isn't going to play forever, Genie is a non-factor. Halep is a gamer AND photogenic. She'll need a shoe sponsor, too. Perfect fit.

You know, I meant to start a thread on that. At the Laver Cup, Borg was wearing Fila.....surprised me a bit he wouldn't be sporting his own line.

As far as I know, Borg doesn't own the brand named after him anymore.
Now regarding Halep: she needs to get paid! Hope she goes back to Lacoste. It would be nice to see the crocodile brand getting some GS titles with Nole and Simona in '18.

Not really. Adidas probably can't afford her. she has at least 1 major coming her way with serena and venus nearing retirement. if Nike has a keen eye, they will pick her up but otherwise, underarmour should take this opportunity and sign her with good deal for them

Nah…if Adidas really wanted her they'd cough up the cash needed.
If she was gonna ever win a major she would have done it against Osta. That was a golden opportunity of ever there was one.
She'll end up with Lacoste, Fila, UA, ST….one of those. NIke won't be interested unless they can get her cheap.

Halep would look bare being #1 and no clothing sponsor. If Wilson wanted more exposure in apparel business, Halep is at Wilson's bidding for cheap! Maybe $500K for both apparels and shoe endorsement! Halep already Wilson's racquet sponsorship, so Halep will be okay with it even at a bargain rate otherwise it would be sort of embarrassing. Because her agent ask for too much, she is not going get more money and it end of the year! You debrand clothing by removing brand labels but shoes that another matter! Very hard to get quality tennis shoes without labels on them. Cannot remove branding on tennis shoe without showing the outline of the branding.

That is how Halep and Cahill originally got together but the Adidas Coaching Team was discontinued at the end of 2016 so that should have no bearing on their relationship.

She played in the year end exhibition in Adidas clothing and footwear! I think she might of re-sign at a little more or even the same endorsement amount with adidas!

Going be embarrassing if the #1 WTA tour player is wearing a magic marker cap and patches to cover up her outfits! And what she going do about her tennis shoes? You cannot take the logos off of tennis shoes and have them look normal!

The adidas shoes she was wearing lately had no stripes and looked pretty generic. I guess the footwear is not going to be a problem.

I think the logo is the last step that goe on clothing and shoes before it gets package. Her agent could just ask for no logo clothing and tennis shoes from Adidas or another brand.

Agree. Usually a high profile player leaves and it dovetails cleanly with a new deal starting but not in this case. I assume she will keep wearing the Adidas clothes and obscure the branding until she has a new sponsor?

Good question. If they are still in good terms, I guess adi would be happy to provide the logo-less clothing. adidas pro athletes always get special made shoes and apparel.

Her red dress kinda looks like her previous outfit from Adidas, but I would be surprised if this was made by them. Her shoes are propably still from Adidas, though they looked plain white and kinda cheap yesterday. Hope she’ll find a sponsor soon...

She definitely could. Thing is neither she or her managers would want her to wear any logo that she isn't getting paid to wear. Especially the current No. 1 player who is getting a good amount of broadcast time. The clothing companies would love it - free advertising essentially.
I do think she's still wearing adidas clothing but without the logos. She's worn that type of outfit before.

That's about what I figured. I'm sure the clothing companies would love the free advertising as you say. It'd be funny if a non-sponsored player wore shoes,skirt, shirt, visor, wristbands from all different companies with the logos on them.
That's actually not uncommon at many of the smaller ITF events.
