We have a woman's tournament here every Feb, sort of a second tier, I think the top seed is ranked #62 in the world, anyway AS lost to Angela Haynes 3&2. The thing that impressed me was how much pace Alexandra put on the ball, I could see how she went to the semi's at Wimby in 99', also was ranked as high as #18 until she had shoulder surgery. She has a big game but way too many unforced errors, especially off the return.

Yes it is , at the 50,000(us) level. Ms Stevenson is still trying to get over her shoulder surgery from three years ago, Ms Haynes is trying to raise her ranking as she is fleet f foot, but doesn't have a big enough game to impose her will on top tier players.

I saw her play here as well. She has a solid game but she needs work on movement. Her footwork is not that great either. Her serve has also been letting her down as well. I liked watching her play, maybe it's because I'm a sucker for a woman with a one handed backhand and her's looks textbook. She is also insanely tall. I would guess she's maybe an inch shorter than I am or might be the same height as me.

Do either of the two of you think that Alexandra can ever be top 100 material again? I have to admit I have a soft spot for the mixed players (like me).

She's not too heavy, just a big girl, actually they both were well put together, but then again I thought Marilyn Monroe had a great body.

I think top 100 is doable. I hope she can do better. I think she's still having problems with her serve(which is one of her weapons) because of the shoulder. She just turned 26 so she doesn't have too much time left.

alot of people are impressed with pace, not results. At the pro level they can all it hard or handle pace, so it does not impress me. Hitting hard and losing 3 & 2 does not impress me

Yes, she is definately top 50 material if she has the desire ? Saw this girl roll Capriati in Australia on hardcourt around 2000/2002. I remember she got the crowd on her side after some horrendous baseline calls. Yes she makes plenty of errors but what stood out is her big game. Players like her need lots of match practice to be at their best. Maybe injury is her biggest enemy.
