Ap says i got the bump to 5.0
I've spotted a 12/31/2018 C rating...looks like things may start moving here.
Question. if your rating is still saying 2017, then does that mean you didn't play enough matches in 2018 to get the rating for this year ?? I know my region has been updated already since I see other players ratings have been updatedRatings out for here in Southern.

LOL,,, I had NO idea people were so obsessed................... WOW. I always had been middle of the 4.5 and never really thought about this but,,,,,,,,,,,LOL
If people didn’t obsess about USTA ratings, there would be:
- No tanking matches
- No staying up until 2am to see the year-end rankings
- No 80 comment-deep facebook posts about ratings
- Everyone would focus more on improving their tennis games
- More players would play at the level they really should play at
great link to a pretty good little article
From the article:
"
Several of my friends have had the following seemingly illogical ratings determinations:
haha...my friend (who runs this site) - was talking about me last year...maybe i can stay 4.5 again, since i didn't go to nationals...
- Went 9-0 in sectionals and nationals and stayed a 4.5 "
also, i heard ratings will be out Thursday or Friday (maybe thursday midnight?)...
So like if your rating still say 2017, then does that mean you just didn't play enough matches in 2018 to get a computer rating for 2018 ?Thanks for linking my article, I am glad some of you enjoyed the read! No stress everyone, it's just a number
Sup Chris!
Appeal to 4.5 granted. Thats with 15 matches; i was under the impression with 10 or more matches appeals were automatically denied. I guess thats not true.Ap says i got the bump to 5.0

TR had me at 4.43 and i got the bump this year. Last year i think they had me 4.49 and I didn’t get bumped (@schmke said I wouldn’t)I had more than 10 matches also and appeared at sectionals. Those rules are obviously not in play still.
Question. The matches you play in December of 2018,, does that count towards 2019 rating ?
So I am confused, with 2018 rating already out, where does December matches count towards ?? if it doesn't count towards 2019 rating then December matches dont' count toward rating at all ?????????
don't feel bad, my TR rating was even lower by that stupid TR system and I am still 4.5 actual computer rating by USTA.............LOLTR's projected year end rating for me: 3.9777 (4.0C Very Low, down arrow)
Actual: 4.5
This was my first season playing USTA. I self-rated as a 4.5 and went 0-7 so I am VERY surprised.
There are no human appeals. The auto-denial is final. USTA does not listen to extenuating circumstances.
Matches after 10/28 of this year go to 2019 year-end ratings.
It is possible to play 3 or more matches and not generate a new rating. If you played a self-rate, it is possible he or she did not have a dynamic rating. The match matters toward their rating, but not yours.
Thank you. Also on that human appeal.... If Injury is your cause for appeal, then you can present the letter or evidence to the human committee.
I had more than 10 matches also and appeared at sectionals. Those rules are obviously not in play still.
C’mon man, the suspense is killing us. Did you get bumped to 5.0 or 5.5?No surprise to anyone that the USTA is talking out their windhole.

Well, I don't think they liked that the appeal rules were known before (even though what I wrote about the subject came from an e-mail from the USTA!), and I believe they changed the rules but are being quiet about it.No surprise to anyone that the USTA is talking out their windhole.

I'll let him disclose where he is, but it is what I predicted.C’mon man, the suspense is killing us. Did you get bumped to 5.0 or 5.5?
And I had a high probability of a bump for you!Got bumped up (which I wanted.) Tennis Record had me as low probability of bump. I'm in Southern California and new rating was up when I checked about an hour ago.
If your auto-appeal was denied, not much you can do. Manual appeals can be done, but rarely if ever granted unless there is a permanent medical condition. And no, you can't appeal mid-year, you just have to take your lumps and get bumped down at year-end. But you might surprise yourself and do ok at 4.5.I played 3.5 this year, my first in a USTA league and first time playing competitive tennis in over 10 years when I was cut from my HS team (and broke my ankle 3 times in between) and got bumped to a 4.5 . TR shows me at a projected year end rating of 3.8205 . I tried to do the automated appeal down to 4.0 but it was denied. Is there anyone I can actually talk to about appealing down to 4.0? If not, and I'm doing terribly throughout a 4.5 season, can I appeal mid-year to be able to play 4.0 next fall? I'm in Southern California (not San Diego).
im just glad @leech can finally get in some matches next year.

USTA Section League Coordinators review appeals once they are submitted. Please know that NTRP rating appeals have an approximate turn around time of 3 weeks.
Congrats on 5.0. Sir Jolls. Big Achievement.Lol yeah, thankfully.
5.5 is a tall order unless I dominate the 40+ circuit in 2022.

In the past I remember looking at an alphabetical list showing everyone in our section and their new rating. Now I am having to search individual by player. Same with you guys or am I missing the list?
Use this link to be able to search lists by level (by section, by area, by gender)

In southern it doesn't matter since your match results stand even if you're DQd. Plus you just have to make it through the spring season since none of the other seasons count. For all those appealing back down .... why? Will you enjoy trying to avoid a dynamic DQ for an entire year?
Lol yeah, thankfully.
