I look at Tennis like wrestling, Federer is the Randy Savage/Hulk Hogan of Tennis, the "living legend" who's a veteran on tour, there comes a time when that legend puts new talent to make the new talent the next star, like when Hogan put over Brock Lesnar. Stefanos has to capitalize on this, like Tiafoe has to, enough is a enough and it's time for a change!

About time they broke through against Federer IMO, since last year he's been there for the taking (even in Slams). Djokovic has looked somewhat shaky in his early rounds and faces a potentially dangerous R4 opponent in Medvedev, who clearly recognises that Novak is not the unbeatable warrior that he was a few years back. The Next Gen have managed to catch him out a few times, but can they do it in a Slam?
Nadal, on the other hand, is playing on a high level and is looking to battle as hard as he can to this title. He will probably be the ultimate test for these younger guys.

Unlike the other much hyped "young guns" presently in the top ten, Tsitsipas is not afraid of the crucial moments and is confident. Look at the way he was talking to J Mac after the match, almost like a seasoned pro : although that sometimes can be a problem, but at least its better than the defeatist mentality that most players of the next gen have - 1or 2 sets down and they have tantrums or MTOs.

I am happy that Tsitsipas managed to clear that hurdle, as such players cannot develop if they are regularly brought down by super old tennis players.
They need the belief that they can do better than the players that are at the top, let alone against a players that are breaking records for age achievements every day.

I know that as Djokovic is GOAT due to 9+4+1. Federer is missing Rome and MC and Nadal is missing WTF and few hard courts.

Yeah I like Tsitsipas's mentality, he comes off just a little cocky but that doesn't matter much, he believes in himself, attacks the net and doesn't throw many tantrums.. And boy he serves so clutch BP down.

-Tsisipas is a young next Gen player, not a washed up old journey man.
-He beats Federer in a Grand Slam match.
Tsitsipas victory had the same vibe as Federer's victory over Sampras in Wimbledon.
And, like Sampras in his era, Federer is the most Slam titles holder.

Not at the Australian Open, where Federer was the 2-time defending champion. And not by a NextGen. Federer usually gives the young-guns tennis lessons at the big tournaments.
