Heat Sleeve + Leather Grip + Overgrip

Has anyone tried it?

I'm actually messing about with some 1/4 size handles that I want to make 3/8. Came across some old frames and decided I wanted to tinker. Was wondering how much of bevel feel I will lose if put on a heat sleeve, then put a leather grip (wrapped tight) and then overgrip.

Has anyone done this? Curious to hear thoughts. I have never done this in the past. I know weight will be added because of sleeve but besides that, any other thing worth mentioning?

Cheers

You wont be losing that much bevel as it shrinks to the sharp angles. You will likely not notice it unless you try very hard at it. With the Heat sleeve+ Leather grip+ Overgrip combo, its going to be more headlight.

I'm currently using this method and I like it! Bevel feel is good, so no worries!

I have a heat sleeve on one of my racquets and not on the other. I don't notice a difference. The bevels are still prominent and it feels all the same imo.

Did this exact thing to a Babolat Pure Aero as I heard they were closer to balance and I liked a more HL balance. So I purposefully bought the 4 1/4 to try to give me room to change it to a 4 3/8 (did this as well with the PS97S)

Heat Shrink + Head Leather Grip + Tourna. Don't recall exact weight increase but I'd actually say the change in balance was the most significant part of the change. It felt a bit big once "built up" but this could also be because Babolat's normally on average feel a bit bigger as well.

i think the heat sleeve alone adds almost 1/2 ounce if i remember correctly

I build my L3 to a L4 using a Fairway leather drip--which is a little thicker than most other leather grips... plus an OG
