2 new Head grail acquisitions

Head Radical Trisys MP with translucent CAP grommets installed and Prestige 600 Tour with suspension grip and original CAP grommets in mint condition. Interestingly enough, the seller of the Radical advertised a 4 5/8 grip, but when I removed the replacement grip, I noticed that there was a heat shrink sleeve over the original 4 1/2 pallets; this was great because my grip is actually a size 4 :). I removed the sleeve and am planning on throwing on some TW leather. With regards to the Prestige, does anybody notice some distortion of the hoop? Maybe it's just my eyes ... Can't wait to hit the courts once I get these strung up. Open to stringing suggestions :)

The head on the Prestige does look peculiarly oval to be honest, certaily next to the Radical. Then again the Prestige Classic/Tour frames are NOTORIOUSLY prone to warping... probably more than any other racket I have owned (and I have around 50+ Head frames so I can say that comfortably).

Of course they are both amazing rackets. Enjoy!

Thanks! Maybe it's in my head (pun unintended). I just compared the length of both sticks and they both came out to be the same 27". If the Prestige got squeezed and became more oval, it would make sense that the racquet would be slightly longer but it's not, so I guess all's good in the hood.

Thanks! The Prestige was nice but the Radical was pretty gross and had a funny smell when it came. It had scuff marks and sticky stuff all over it but nothing that some acetone couldn’t fix!

On some older frames, depending on which Acetone you use, it can sometimes melt the paint. I use denatured alcohol. The sticky stuff must be the old synthetic grip melting.

Hopefully the suspension grip on your new Prestige Tour isn’t making haunted house noises. They have a special way of slowly going loosey and squeaky and then feel irreparably weird thereafter.

Is there a way to replace the suspension grip with a conventional one in case what you describe happens?

They are different head sizes and shapes.

The Prestige Tour you have is fine. Make sure you string both racquets 2 pieces and start the crosses at the head and finish at the throat

Update - I've played with the Radical Trisys 260 MP several times now, and I have to say, I really dislike the feel. I strung it with Isospeed Cream at 53 lbs., so maybe it's the strings but I have similar racquets strung with a stiffer poly that felt softer. It was just very board-like and unresponsive. I was thinking perhaps it's the cap grommets making the hoop of the racquet feel stiffer.

You’re stringing it too tight. Go down to 50lbs

Currently some poly by Artemik in two of them. Tourna Pro Poly in a couple. Isospeed Cream in another. I’m not too fussy.
