When it's all said and done, who will hold the three main records in tennis?

- Slam titles
- #1 weeks/years
- Big Titles

Will Federer hold any of them?

GS-Nadal or Federer. Looking to be more likely Nadal at this point and Djokovic is a bit far
Number 1 weeks -Djokovic. In years maybe a tie if Nadal can hold Djokovic off this year.
Big Titles-Nadal.
GS will be the most important so even if one finishes with more slams and less weeks they can be considered better on the merit of having more slams.

Slams: most probably Nadal but then again, he tends to have a bit of a dip after he had a multislam year. He's still favourite for RG and will likely be in 2021 too. Unlikely Fed wins another, although he'll have his chances at Wimbledon

YE/time at number 1: Djokovic on track for 6th year. Will likely overtake Fed in weeks some point next year.

Big titles: I dont really consider it a separate category given it includes slams. However, I expect Nadal to end up with more slams and more masters than Djokovic. Djokovic obviously had the YEC. Bit of a toss up

Rafa fans are the most content and appreciative of his achievements. Federer fans continuously think the grass is greener on their neighbour's lawn so keep calling the council to suggest that their neighbour must be cheating by using a hosepipe at night.

After seeing hose attachments scattered about, extreme spikes in water consumption and rapid lawn transformations.

Rafa will really not have a better resume than Fed overall unless he gets to 23 majors . 65% of titles is still clay based . Just 1 AO and 2 Wimb.

Fed will have the overall best resume of the three

And Federer himself has 1 slam on clay and thats 5% of his slams it is not like he has 2-3 RG titles. Rafa could do with a 2nd AO and a WTF title and some more weeks at number 1. 23 slams is very high expections assuming Federer stays on 20.

It's crazy that Nadal may end up with the slam record. I still can't believe this recent slayage lol

He will still be the one to end up with the overall best resume . Rafa can not be with his lesser weeks at No 1 and YE NO 1, Djoker is too far away in slam count
That's debatable, while he would objectively have none of the biggest records.

LMAO. Some Federer fans are so afraid that they already start writing absolutely ridiculous stuff. Last time I checked, in the domain of natural numbers 21 was a bigger number than 20.

Djokovic is pretty much a lock for weeks at #1. I think he will have 400+ weeks. The only one who had a chance to stop him a bit was Nadal, but as he showed he just doesn't care about that, and he decided to gift the YE#1 to Djokovic this year. I don't see who can take the number 1 spot from Djokovic in the next few years. Federer and Nadal don't even care anymore. The rest of the field? Lol.

I would say it's not easy for him to be consistent all year.

I don't think a tennis player doesn't care about being world #1.

That mean Novak will win many slams to get 400 weeks... Possibly enough to win slam race... Agreed

Slams - Nadal
Wks at No 1 - Federer
Big titles - who cares
Really ? Federer holding the weeks at number 1 ? Who's gonna take the number 1 rank from Djokovic in the next 6 months ? Nadal is the only Challenger, but he appears to not care as much, with that mantle. He'd rather go "fishing" with Xisca.

Federer ? Hmmmm. He can't even beat his pigeons like Grigor nowadays.

Medvedev ? A long shot. He's going to take at least 8 months to catch up. Unless you're waiting for Djoker to be sidelined by injury, this record is Djoker's

There are lots of people who could stop Djokovic in his tracks who have no hope of being #1.

Novak Djokovic needs another 9 months at No 1, child.

Either Nadal or a young gun like Medvedev shall take it from Novak Djokovic just in time for the record to remain Federer's, methinks.

So, Djokovic will be out of the picture and never regain the ranking if he does lose it at some point ? More like a wishful thinking if you ask me, Papi

Exactly. All this talk about players “not caring” is not very accurate. Being #1 is the driving ambition of any top athlete. JMac, during the USO final, mentioned that YE1 is as important as slams (he was making the distinction between YE1 and weeks IIRC).

But players also need to be realistic. Going for #1 requires a lot and they need to pace themselves. That’s also smart
