That is the thing: the "soft cell" thingy was the pinnacle of the technology at the time. Now the times are different and the technology has moved on. It would be wrong form a philosophical perspective and extremely difficult and expensive from a technical point of view to provide the original technology for a limited run of shoes. The shoes are what they are: a tribute to the past, without trying to make any point: they are just casual wear and even as such the return of that technology won't make them better shoes than the current casual shoes. It is a balancing act between trying to satisfy some extremely small audience and reasonable approach.
The jacket (at least the yellow one I have seen) is not what Edberg was wearing, but it isn't the worst option what to market: Adidas track jackets used to be extremely simple, and the colour picks up a colour from the shoes and is a typical retro colour.
Unless they decide to come up with the exact same range that SE wore (I am not sure how relevant most of it would look anyway), it is a decent effort.
