Rafa was spotted having fun at Disneyland Paris on Friday. He took all of his many cousins (or most of them) to Disneyland. He has about a dozen cousins. :)

Rafa & Sponsor - Nike

The NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 4 will be released at the beginnig of January 2020.

nike.com: ¤¤ Rafael Nadal’s play is best illustrated by his 2019 victory at Flushing Meadows. Won in dramatic fashion — a close match contested over 4 hours and 49 minutes and concluded in a fifth set — Nadal exhibited all of his intensely athletic game. Time and time again, he’d shoot his frame across the baseline before sprinting back to center court as if drawn by an invisible force.
The way he moves appears innate, but in truth, Nadal is always focused on the nuances of his footwork. Specifically, he wants to ensure he isn't losing time transitioning back to the center of the court, whether to return a serve or to rally. Doing so requires him to efficiently pop back to the forefoot.

The NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 4 focuses on a specific design proposition: How can a performance tennis shoe return more energy and allow for a faster transition to the next hit? The all-court pace of contemporary tennis leaves no margin for error in getting back to position. Even if players are forced into a desperate slide for a return, a smooth transition to the forefoot— and a fast transition at that —can mean the difference between a point won or lost, be it on clay, grass or hard court.
The shoe incorporates the best qualities of two NikeCourt franchises: the durability of the Cage series with the speed of the Vapor line...
The NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 4 releases on January 2 on nike.com and at select retailers.¤¤

Those shoes scream Nick Kyrgios, whom I have nothing but utter dislike for.

That should tell you all you need to know about what I think about these new shoes.

It better be, and probably sleeveless :D

Pretty sure he won't go back to sleeves in summer climates,

"No, the real thing is I have, ah, small issue when I’m playing in the very warm conditions that when I hit the forehand when I am hitting this strange shot (with the exaggerated follow through) I hit with the grip on the right arm," Nadal explained.

"So under warm conditions, even if I played for a couple of years with the normal shirts, the polos, I like to play with the sleeveless now and a couple of years ago we spoke with Nike and, you know, couple of years without playing like this so was happy to go back to the sleeveless, makes me feel younger again."

Some Statistics

This season, Rafa set his new personal record for the average number of aces served per match.
He averaged 4.5 aces per match this season, up from 3.8 in 2010 (his previous personal record) and up from 2.6 in 2018.

Yeah hate both pink and sleeveless. Rafa was seen shooting for an ad at his academy wearing a pink sleeveless kit and the new shoes. I guess that's his AO outfit.
Any photo of it?
I fear Rafa's outfits these days, not a good era for him.
I don't like pink, unless its the secondary color of a black outfit :)
Actually the only exception is I liked the 2009 Roland Garros outfit-

It's not confirmed yet but his hat is confirmed to be pink, so almost certainly this is the kit. He is also wearing the new shoes well before their release. That's another clue.

Well, Rafa said he gets to pick the colors, so we have no one to blame but him. I just hate the sleeveless look (except USO this year, that was fire). AO was absolutely hideous.

2019ao is the worst outfit I've ever seen, that is for sure.
2009ao is the best, and 2010uso, 2013uso, 2011rg :)

I guess I don't like sleeveless, but the sleeveless tops he wears at practice are much better.

At least the 2020ao kit doesn't have the weird lining of the 2019ao.
Its a lot better than 2019 :)
Nike was way better at fashion in the 1990s, with Agassi especially.

I don't know how many of you saw this yet. It was posted 4 days ago. I did not see Nadal back then. If I had seen him so young, playing like this, I would have been on the Nadal train very early on.

Puerta made it up to around #18 in the world in 200. He was a seasoned pro by 2003. The video says Nadal was 16 years old. In fact, this was at the end of April, so he was very nearly 17. At the end of the match you can see he was clearly a couple inches taller than Puerta, who is listed as 5'11".

Even though he eventually lost this match you can clearly see the monster he was soon to become. Does anyone see that kind of talent in any young player today? I don't.

Yeah, I posted this video a few days ago and as I was watching it, I couldn't help thinking that if there was a 16 yr old out there today playing like this in the Challengers, the media would be going absolutely nuts. Not only was Rafa physically mature for a 16 yr old, I was so impressed with his intelligence and strategy. He played a very smart game even back then that I haven't seen from any current youngster. FAA has his moments and is probably the closest in terms of precocious talent.

I'm glad to see that Rafa has learned how to be more gracious when accepting the runner up trophy. :-D
