It's almost like I'd prefer Zverev for both insteadScenario - Rafa wins USO2020. Novak wins RG2020.
Would you be ok with this, and why not?

No.Both sides should happily sign for that.
Because....?
Imagine Timmy beats Rafa at RG but loses to Novak in the final.Tim would have won both, feel so sad for him

You say that, but Nadal did beat Djokovic twice in the finals, 2 out of 4 times he won the event.everytime I hear Nadal and USO in one sentence, I imagine Fedovic retiring in QFs and Nadal vulturing a draw
Djokovic already won 1 RG with a cakewalk draw, you want him to win another one?Because....?
Is that mainly because you don't want to see nadal have a 2 slam gap over to Djokovic at the USO. Especially considering novaks considered the HC specialistI would since it guarantees Novak a slam.
However if I could pick I'd rather he win USO and Nadal wins RG.

Then beats Novak in NY but loses to Rafa in the final.
Huh? Fedal would be 20 each...remains 2 Majors behind Nadal, and pulls to within 1 Major of Federer[/INDENT]
I think both sides would be happy with that:
-Nadal gets another Major off of clay, pulls to within 1 of the record 5 U.S. Open titles held by a few players, and gets his 20th Major to tie Federer; and-Djokovic gets the double career Slam, remains 2 Majors behind Nadal, and pulls to within 1 Major of Federer

Nadal already has 4 so that in scenario he would tie the record of 5 US Opens held by Fed, Sampras, and Connors.
Nope. There are no pacts between lion and men.
Yeah, don’t think that’s how it works.No. Rafa has more of a chance to win both as he has more USO and RG titles than Novak.
Yup exactly.
I can't see the problem here.
Ok, Nadal would be better in 2 slam, Djokovic in 2. And Djokovic would still be better on 2/3 surfaces.
Djokovic would have more weeks#1 and probably YE#1. He has the H2H advantage(Although not in GS).
If he can shorten the distance in the Slam race, he would be considered better than Rafa. 2 GS more are a strong case with the same competition, but it's the same with Rafa winning RG and Nole USO.
I wouldn't give up on a Double Career Grand Slam only to be tied with Rafa in USO titles, without even a record there.
Maybe it's only because i'm not involved in the "Rafa is only a clay courter" narrative(I'm not saying you are), on the contrary I think it's stupid call clay courter someone who won the same non-clay slam of McEnroe, Agassi and Connors and I wouldn't be upsetted if another HC title helps to put an end to it.
Unspoken is that he hasn't won a single set from Novak in 7 years on a HC in seven matches.No. Rafa has more of a chance to win both as he has more USO and RG titles than Novak.
Nadal is the heir apparent to the USO throne. He only needs one more to match Sampras and Fedr and he has every chance of passing them.Unspoken is that he hasn't won a single set from Novak in 7 years on a HC in seven matches.
No. Djokovic underachieved at the US Open while one RG is about right. And don't get me started on how much VamosBrigade would spawn in this place if Nadal actually shared a USO title record lol.
I would be happy with literally anyone winning USO 2020 and RG 2020, even Leonardo Mayer.
Some live action would be exciting.

That's not how probability works. Using this logic Fed would be the favourite for USO20.No. Rafa has more of a chance to win both as he has more USO and RG titles than Novak.

I think he is going through the midlife crisis now and needs some quiet time to himself!
Nadal owning a share of the USO record or owning it outright would be an enormous, perhaps definitive boost to his GOAT claim.
Yes, and it stands for period since 2008...That's not how probability works. Using this logic Fed would be the favourite for USO20.
Fedr hasn't won the USO since 2008; in that time Nadal has won it 4 times. That's not how probability works. Using this logic Fed would be the favourite for USO20.
But by your logic 4 is irrelevant. It's more about winning the last 2/3.Fedr hasn't won the USO since 2008; in that time Nadal has won it 4 times.
Fedr did miss one in 2015 so let's say 10-0.Yes, and it stands for period since 2008...
From next 11 USO tournaments he won exactly zero titles...
Nadal has won 2 out of the last 3 and he retired injured against in the 2018 SF.But by your logic 4 is irrelevant. It's more about winning the last 2/3.
If Federer's 5 from 04-08 don't matter, then neither do Nadal's 2010 or 2013 since he's practically a different player at this point.
So 3 time defending champ if we include moral victoriesNadal has won 2 out of the last 3 and he retired injured against in the 2018 SF.
In 2015 he lost final to Djokovic. You meant 2016 if I recall good.Fedr did miss one in 2015 so let's say 10-0.
